1. After the characterization of a solar cell under standard

test conditions (STC), the efficiency is 18.6%. Enter question
What would the
efficiency of the solar cell be (in %) if the external quantum
efficiency (EQE) were halved
and all the other external parameters
remained the same?

External quantum efficiency (EQE):- My Textbook Solutions

it is the basically ratio of charge
carrier collected to the no. of photon incident on solar cell

When EQE will be half

Then charge collected by collector will also be half, which

means less elctron will flow hence less current
will produce by
cell and hence efficiency decrease

when current decrease the Pout(cell) will decrease

as Pout(cell)= VI.

as earlier efficiency is 18.6%

Now it will be half and decreased to 9.3%

Q: In the figure below the external quantum efficiency (EQE) of a solar cell is presented as a function of the wavelength
under short-circuit condition (V = 0 V). What is the bandgap (in eV) of the absorber layer of the solar cell? Calculate
the short circuit current density Jsc (in mA/cm2) of the solar cell for the wavelength range of 300 nm - 1300 nm, if the
incident photon flux s...

Q: Consider the following statements regarding a purely grid-connected PV system design. a) A grid connected system
does not necessarily need a battery storage, because the grid can uptake and feed power when needed. b) The PV
system should be designed such that the PV array continues to feed the grid, even in the event of a grid network
failure. c) The grid connected PV system can...
