1.2. Test load and condition

The weight used for the test to be checked accurately and provided in accordance
with the following table in presence of Classification’s ( NK ) surveyor, Owner’s
supervisor and Inspection section’s member.

1.3. Test and observation

The test to be carried out as follows.

(A) Rescue boat launching test

(1) Lowering test
At loaded condition, the Rescue boat to be lowered by hydraulic
winch by use control lever and control wire. During the test, the
brake action to be inspected.
(2) Release test
Release hook operation test to be carried on.

(B) Rescue boat Launching speed test

(1) Full load condition
Rescue boat to be lowered and its speed to be measured.
Required speed(m/s):S ≧ 0.4+0.02×H and S≦1.3
Where H : height from davit head to the water line at the lightest
seagoing condition. (H=23.4 → S ≧ 0.87)
(2) Light load condition
Rescue boat to be lowered and its speed to be measured.
Required speed(m/s):S ≧0.7×{0.4+(0.02×H )}
Where H : height from davit head to the water line at the lightest
seagoing condition. (H=23.4 → S ≧ 0.61)

(C) Rescue boat Recovery test

The rescue boat to be lifted and stowed/installed in the position by
boat winch.
During test , lifting speed and stowing time to be measured.
Automatic cut-off appliance (limit switch) and manual handling of
hoisting winch to be confirmed.

(D) Life raft Launching test and Life raft Launching speed test
Loweing time test to be carried out by use same load of life raft and test load.
(1) Full load condition
Life raft to be lowered and its speed to be measured.
Required speed(m/s):S ≧ 0.4+0.02×H and S≦1.3

(2) Light load condition

Life raft to be lowered and its speed to be measured.
However, limit value is not defined and actuation to be confirmed.
