Charles Darwin

Charles Darwin was a famous English biologist

whose scientific theory is the base of modern
evolutionary studies.
He was born on the 12th February. His parents were
Robert Waring Darwin, who was a doctor, and
Susannah Wedgwood. He was sent to study medicine
at Edinburgh University in 1825, there he learnt how
to study animals and plants. In his free time, he
collected sea animals and different kinds of insects.
On his 22th birthday, he went on a trip to study more
animals, he was really frightened because he was
afraid of the ocean. After many months of travelling,
he arrived Galapagos’ Islands where he found many
interesting animals, such as marine iguanas, giant
tortoises and different types of birds. He studied the
birds’ feathers.
After tiring months collecting data for his book, he
returned to England to think of a theory for this
discovery. Because of these trips, he wrote many
books.
He died at the age of 73, at midday next to his wife in
his house in England.
