We understand that this transition to distance

learning may not be simple or easy for everyone.

We acknowledge that most parents, if not all, are managing multiple

responsibilities while also doing their best to provide incredible
support to their child(ren). Some parents are caring for elderly parents
and young children, and many are working from home. We want you
to know that we do not intend to place additional burden on your
family during these challenging times.

It is also important to bear in mind that with distance learning, we are

not to trying to recreate face-to-face (F2F) learning, which is
impossible to do. Rather, we are all trying our best to rise to the
occasion by maximizing the use of technology to continually meet the
learning needs of our learners.

Let us continue supporting one another as we navigate uncharted

waters and explore innovative ways to educate our learners. As a key

A student’s application will be given due course when the student-applicant meets all the academic requirements and has
none of the disqualification prescribed by the School, the Department of Education 2010 Revised Manual of Regulations for
Private Schools in Basic Education and the SD IMS Parent Orientation Manual as amended and such other rules promulgated
by the School.

The school reserves the right at any time to refuse, to admit, or to re-admit students under certain conditions as enrolment
in SD IMS is a privilege. Admission of new students for all levels will be on a first-come, first-served basis and will depend on
the availability of slots.

Is distance learning purely online? How much time will they spend online and offline?
Kindergarten
A: Distance learning will be a combination of both
online and offline activities. We will balance learning
activities such that some tasks are done online (e.g.,
video conferencing, watching educational videos, etc.)
and other tasks are done offline (e.g., answering
worksheets, doing book exercises, working on projects,
etc.)

Grade School
How will you manage the class schedule such that it
will not conflict with my other child’s schedule?

We will be keeping in mind those who have siblings in

the school so that they won’t have conflicting
schedules. We will release your child's class schedule
during our Annual Parent Orientation Program which
will be around July 2022.

What online platform do you use?

KindrEd is the official Learning

Management System (LMS) of
Studentdesk Integrated Montessori School
powered by Google Suite for Education.

It is a secured and user-friendly online

platform where lessons, activities,
materials, assessments, and
announcements can be found and
accessed. It is our classroom but in a
virtual world.

The word ‘KindrEd’ means family or tribe

and that is exactly how we regard all
members of our school community.
KindrEd is dedicated to bringing school
and families together in educating
children through collaborative, innovative,
adaptive, and flexible learning
approaches.

Questions (FAQs)
What textbooks and other learning materials will the
students be using?
We will schedule the pickup of textbooks and school
supplies from the school few weeks before the school
opening. Parents may also use delivery apps (e.g.,
Grab or Lalamove), but they will shoulder the
corresponding delivery fees. Deliveries must be
coordinated with SD IMS staff ahead of time prior to
booking.
Printable worksheets and homework packets will be
posted by the teachers on KindrEd. Parents are advised
to have printer and bond paper ready at home for
printing of learning materials.
Other online learning resources such as videos, music,
interactive games, websites, and other multimedia
resources will also be posted on KindrEd.

How will the assessment, evaluation, and reporting of
my child’s progress be done under Flexible Study
Program?
A: Recognizing that these are not normal times, we do
not expect that all learners will be equitably
well-positioned to learn from home. Some may have
limited access to technology. Others may have less
support from family because their parents are
essential workers. And others may be struggling in
other areas.
We recognize these challenges and our goal is to
support every learner, not to penalize them for the
circumstances that they find themselves in.
All assessments for Flexible Study Program are done
online. Specific plans, tools, and processes for the
assessment, evaluation, and reporting of learner’s
progress will be discussed during our Annual Parent
Orientation Program.
