CREATING SYMBIOTIC RELATIONSHIP

(Towards Making A Performing Institution of Learning)

It is the goal of every learning institution to be a performing school. We
all desire to be above the others whether it be on the division, regional or
national level. We all want to belong to an institution that shines among
others or the so called Performing Institution of Learning which delivers
quality education.
How can our school become a performing instittution of learning?
Achieving such goals could not be realized by the school administrators and
teachers alone, but with the partnership of the community and the
stakeholders .The school is identified with, and intimately related to the life of
the community, not just by virtue of the fact of its geographical location but
more of its real function of ministering to the needs of the people it serves.

To become a perforrming school is a collaborative effort of the
community, the school’s stakeholders and other civic- spirited citizens.
However, it is true that much come from the teachers who through their
teaching skills and strategies would help the learners in the acquisition of their
skills and knowledge but this would not be enough.The community,
stakeholders and alumni all play an important role in the development of a
child and the rehabilitation of the school.The community can do a lot to
influence the child’s attitudes, behavior and outlook towards life and learning.
The support of all these can help greatly in helping the school become an
outstanding institution of learning. They can help improve the children’s
academic performance. Through the stakeholders participation in the School
Feeding Program, they do not just help improve the learners nutritional status
but even their academic performance and in co-curricular activities because we
believe that a well-nourished child performs better than the undernourished.
We have to admit that achieving such goals could not be realized by the school
administrators and teachers alone, but with the partnership of the community
and the stakeholders.The greatest contributions come from them. They are the
resources, the linkages who come with their outpouring volunteerism,
willingness and commitment to share in the school ‘s rehabilitation, repair and
maintenance of the school buildings and facilities.
Teachers then must cultivate good relationship with the community and
parents or with the school’s stakeholders. The school, community and the
stakeholders are indispensable links to becoming a performing institution of
learning. A trusting relationship must be built among them.
The delivery of quality education and making the school a performing
institution of learning is made possible because of the involvement of the
community and its stakeholders. They can help much to develop every school
children physically and academically. With this, the learners develop their full
potentials which enables them to make the school shine among others, bringing
home the laurels and making the school a Performing Institution of Learning.
In our desire to make our school a Performing Institution of Learning, let
us create a meaningful and symbiotic relationship putting in mind that these are
the indispensable links to the attainment of quality education and the tool to
becoming a performing institution.However, let us not forget that we, the
educators who have the noble task of moulding the young must be dedicated and
committed to our chosen profession. We ought to make a difference in the life of
our learners. Let us equipped them with the needed skills and knowledge to help
them become globally competent and ready to face the challenges of the K-12
Curriculum.
Digital Technology: A Need for Classroom Instructions

How effective is our classroom instruction? Do we attain to the fullest


our objectives for the day’s lesson? Are the learners engaged in the differentiated
activities in class? We all want to enhance our learners skills and knowledge as
well as to fully comprehend concepts, ideas and processes. What better way to
achieve this if not to integrate or use digital technologies in our classrom
instructions.
Today’s K-12 Curriculum challenges every teacher to make learning
more enjoyable and meaningful for the learners.The use of digital technology
plays a vital role and serves as an effective tool to enhance and facilitate the
teaching learning process in our daily classroom instructions.
The instructional program of every learning institution includes the
integration of digital technologies which includes video clips, handheld computers,
camera and videos. The use of these would make clear processes and enhance
learners vocabulary skills. The technology enhanced lessons would engage the
learners in various activities which would address the multiple intelligences of the
learners. There is no doubt that the technology enhanced lessons involves all
learners in the classroom. Engaging the learners in multi media and digital videos
enable them to understand better certain processes thus allowing them to
make meaningful judgement and conclusions.
Our K-12 Curriculum may have substantially changed with the use
of digital technologies.Getting the learners involvement in the differentiated
activities in the classroom is the primary goal of todays curriculum. There is no
better way to do such but intergate the use of digital technologies in classroom
instructions. Lessons were made more interactive, enjoyable and meaningful to
the learners. Learners may find difficulty in interacting with the text materials, but
having these stories viewed in motion pictures or through video clips would make
them understand and comprehend stories better. Aside from this, skills and
processes could be easily grasps as they are demostrated or viewed repeatedly.
Video program holds the interests of the learners making the day’s lesson
interactive and lesson objectives are attained to the fullest.
With the use of digital technologies and a computer literacy program
and the use of other instructional media, learners are able to r participate
responding to some stimulus which increases learning of concepts. Classrom
instructions using digital technologies deepen the learners’ knowledge and
skills as digital media especially computers serve as a tool in the learning process
for communication, collaboration and research.
The delivery of quality education in our curriculum urges all teachers to
integrate or use digital technologies in our daily lessons to help our learners
become communicatively competent. Enhancing their knowledge and skills
means exposing them to multi media activities through digital technologies in
our daily instructions. With digital technologies they get involved and getting
them involved helps them remember concepts, ideas ,skills and processes better.
With digital technologies the objective/s in our Curriculum are achieved to the
fullest making our learners globally competent able to face the challenges of life.
