The National Housing Authorities (NHA) was serving the Filipino Families for over four
decades of public service. They have provided housing units nationwide to 1,053,070
families. According to NHA Acting General Manager Marcelino P. Escalada, Jr., “The NHA
under the Duterte Administration ensures the public that it will address the country’s
housing needs as it will lead the construction and development of new communities
and
maximize government resources.”

The NHA had a project that is called “Low Rise Building.” The LRB was under the 50
million fund from the former President Benigno Simeon Aquino, Jr., allocated for the
Metro Manila informal settler families living along danger zones, creeks, rivers and
waterways. (NHA, 2015)
This project is congenial to the agency of National Housing Authorities because they
have the same perspective, but this project focuses more on the advanced housing
systems to avoid flood issues, and it is available for all different economic classes not
just for those homeless and informal settlers.

Being a country that receives a high amount of rainfall, floods are the most common
natural and man-made hazard in the Philippines. As a citizen of this country, we are
concern to those people who always experience flood in their places that can enter their
houses and damage their properties, that’s why we have invented a housing system that
can mitigate flood.

The purpose of this project is to ensure you and your family to have a safety and flood
free house that anyone can afford. This project has a three concept design. The first
concept is to build a huge drainage around the area of your house and the design of the
drainage is not visible above the ground and stack your backyard with a loam (a type of
soil), because it absorbs water easily. The second concept is to build your house that
contains a machine that can elevate your house up to 10feet above the ground. The
third concept is when you really want to secure your house from flood and you have a
great budget we can combine the first and second concept. The cost of building your
houses with these concept depends on how huge your house and how wide the area it
occupies. The subdivision or the village where you want to live has also a huge drainage
around it and all the waters that the drainage collected will go to a dam that will
provide the farmers a water on the drought season.
