Model 560D Single Flap Diverter Damper
FE&M Engineered Diverter Dampers are the result of over 40-years of experience with gas
turbine combined-cycle applications. Each diverter assembly is carefully engineered for
operation from startup at full bypass through all phases of combined-cycle operation and then
back to bypass. Great care is given to design details to ensure superior sealing efficiency, heat
loss management and operational longevity.
FE&M Model 560D Single-Flap Diverter is ideal for small to medium size gas turbine combined-
cycle off-shore or on-shore applications. The single flap design ensures that only one diverter
outlet can be closed at any time. Pressure loss during combined-cycle operation is minimized
with the single flap positioned out of the gas flow. The flap and drive shaft assembly are
carefully designed to minimize thermal stresses during gas turbine startup. Insulation located on
both flap faces serves to greatly reduce heat loss to bypass during combined-cycle operation.
This insulation also serves to reduce heat loss to the WHRU equipment when in bypass mode.

Model 560D and 560L Diverters are designed to modulate gas flow during startup for gradual
heating of the WHRU. The below graph illustrates the flow percentage to either Bypass or
WHRU versus open percentage of flap to WHRU.
