1.

Considering the current state of our society, do you think science literacy among people has
contributed to the growth of our economy? Explain how S & T played its part in the history of
human civilization. Give an example to justify your answer (20pts.)

Scientific literature enables people to look for conditions that will improve the
world rather than accept it as it is. Scientific research, medicine, safe and efficient
transportation, artificial intelligence, and robots, to name a few examples. Also, as
more people are informed of information technology, more small and medium-sized
businesses emerge with innovative products, enhancing economic growth. Such is
what science contributes. Simply put, System Information aids in achieving this goal.

People become better informed after learning about science. Intellectual people
can do intelligent things. Some can even build intelligent cities and adapt to a less
aggressive framework to environmental change. It is easier to make decisions when
things are incorporated into written, mathematical, and historical data because there is
no need to make too many guesses.

We will generally realize that everything is done with scientific research. As a

result, science benefits the economy by putting people first to develop innovative
solutions to modern problems.

2. A front liner working on a vaccination site stole nearly expired COVID-19 vaccine and
injected them to his wife, family, and friends. Is his action justified? Why or why not? Defend
your answer. Include concept/s or principles learned from your module (20pts.)

No. These vaccines that were about to expire have no bearing on the fact that
they were taken unethically and immorally. The basic principle of morals states that
people must ensure that their actions are morally correct to promote equality and
fairness in society. Stealing vaccines is unethical because it restricts certain people's
opportunities to secure vaccines. People, especially medical workers, must ensure that
everyone receives the vaccine quickly and equitably. Such is advantageous in terms of
prioritizing the distribution of vaccines to those who are most in need. More so, he
could have quickly scheduled all of his family and friends for vaccination since he is a
front liner.

3. There are many products out in the market. As a citizen, should labels be incorporated in
the packaging of consumer products containing nanoparticles? Why or why not? What
suggestions (at least 2) can you offer to manufacturers based on lessons learned from your
module? (20pts.)

Yes, labels should be included in the packaging of nanoparticle-containing

consumer products. Labeling, on the other hand, should not be required.
Nanoparticles are frequently used as labels to monitor cellular activity passively; as a
result, it is critical to include nanoparticles on product labels so that they can be
identified. Although little is known about nanoparticles' effects on humans and the
environment, nanoparticle-containing items must be labeled differently. Furthermore,
all product ingredients, including nano materials, should be disclosed to consumers to
make informed purchasing decisions.

Nanoparticles may be used effectively to carry genes to cells, treat cancer, and
immunize people against diseases such as influenza. Further to that, using
nanoparticles as drug carriers can reduce the toxicity of the combined medication.
