1. Objectives
The following are the objectives for the output:
● To create the Truss Bridge Structure on STAAD Pro using the learned processes and
shortcuts.
● To obtain the maximum deflections on x, y, and z axes.
● To obtain the maximum compression and maximum tension forces per property.
● To present a summary report about the model, analysis of the model, and results of
the analysis.

5. Summary (Learned Techniques and Conclusion)
The group learned various short-cuts in using STAAD like the following:
★ Translational repeat is a command under geometry that enables to copy the format of
groups of nodes or beams according to the axis selected.
★ When properties are assigned, Ctrl+1 view of the wire frame gives a new perspective.
★ Ctrl+4 gives the students the rendered view of the structure.
★ Ctrl+0 returns to the default perspective of the whole structure.
★ Shift+S lets the supports be viewed or unviewed.
★ Shift+M lets the materials be viewed or un-viewed in the perspective.
★ Shift+N for the node numbers and Shift+B for the beam numbers be viewed or un-viewed.
★ Shift+X lets the material properties sections be viewed or unviewed.
★ F9 is a shortcut to run Analysis.
★ Arrow keys to change the angles of perspective view.
The group learned how to use the American steel table option under materials properties,
where standard sections and properties are already available for use if needed instead of manually
creating new user table sections. Also, the group learned how to use the Structure Wizard for the
Truss.
The maximum deflections of the truss bridge structure at X, Y, and Z axes are 3.383 mm, -
15.393 mm, and 0.098 mm, respectively. The maximum compression and tension forces per section
property is shown at Table 5.1.
