●Section A has 3 questions, from Question No. 1 to 3 carrying 2 marks each.

●Section B has 3 questions, from Question No. 4 to 6, carrying 3 marks each.
Answer to these questions should not exceed 80 words.
●Section C has 4 questions, from Question No. 7 to 10, carrying 4 marks each.
Answer to these questions should not exceed 120 words.
●Section D has one case study. There are 2 questions based on this case study,
Question No. 11 and 12. Each question carries 2 marks. Answer to these questions
should not exceed 40 words. Answer both questions.

4. Varun is a 6 year old boy brought to the clinic with complaints 3


from school. Varun’s parents report that his teachers complain
about restlessness in him. He is not able to sit still in class or at
home and finds it difficult to wait for his turn. When he is told
to read or write he finds it difficult to focus on the given task.
What is Varun’s condition?
Explain the features of this condition.
5. Nassim approaches the therapist with fear of water which 3
prevents him from joining the Indian Navy. What could be the
diagnosis? What type of therapy would be used by the therapist
to help Nassim?

SECTION D
This Section has 2 questions.
(a) Hassan is a 40 year old architect. Since 2 years
he has been finding it very difficult to perform his
duties due to lack of energy. He finds it difficult to
get out of bed whereas, on the other hand, finds it
difficult to sleep. He has lost interest in eating or
getting in touch with friends. Recently he is
experiencing suicidal thoughts. The physical health
reports have no indications of ill-health. On the
first session of therapy Hassan reports that nothing
will ever go right in his life.
(b) Jacob met with a car accident while he was
driving and lost his wife in it. He frequently suffers
from nightmares about the incident. Since the
incident Jacob has never driven a car and feels
tensed when he is in one. He has lost weight and is
not able to do his office work efficiently as the
accident scene keeps coming back with great
intensity.
11. (a) Identify the disorder and suggest treatment using 2
Cognitive therapy.
12. (b) Identify the disorder and mention ways to 2
rehabilitate mentally ill.
