WHAT IS ARCHAELOGY

WHAT IS ARCHAELOGICAL SURVEY INSTITUTE ?
The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) is an Indian
government agency attached to the ministry of
culture that is responsible for archaeological research
and the conservation and preservation of cultural
historical monuments in the country.
AIMS
To design a Archaeological survey institute i.e. Public building comprises of ( Admin ,
Educational , and Research Centre
OBJECTIVE
• Protection and preservation of ancient archaeological sites, monuments, remains of historical
and archaeological importance, which are not less than one hundred years .
• Archaeological exploration of unknown sites, remains and their preliminary survey.
• Archaeological excavation of the explored sites.
• The goals of archaeology are to document and explain the origins and development of
human culture, understand culture history, chronicle cultural evolution, and study human
behavior and ecology, for both prehistoric and historic societies.
