Case study in psychology refers to the use of a descriptive


research approach to obtain an in-depth analysis of a person,
group, or phenomenon.

A variety of techniques may be employed including personal


interviews, direct-observation, psychometric tests, and archival
records.

The psychology case studies are mostly used in clinical research


to describe rare events and conditions, which contradict well
established principles in the field of psychology.

A case study is a research strategy and an empirical inquiry that


investigates a phenomenon within its real-life context.

Case studies as tools for the study or learning by educators and


prospective teachers can be used to elicit the generic principles
and practices of teaching profession.

Since case studies present realistic situations, they can allow


cognitive and professional development of teachers by
balancing theory and practice.

Porbandar is a city in the Indian state of Gujarat, perhaps best
known for being the birthplace of Mahatma
Gandhi and Sudama. It is the administrative center of
the Porbandar District and it was the former capital of
the Porbandar princely state.

Onshore explorations in and around Porbandar brought to light


the remains of a late Harappan settlement dating back to the
16th-14th centuries BCE.

The discovery of ancient jetties along the Porbandar creek


signifies the importance of Porbandar as an active center of
maritime activities in the past..

Old jetties discovered around the Porbandar creek reveal that


the city had been a port during that time. According to popular
legends, in the 10th century, Porbandar was known as
Pauravelakul and was later renamed Sudamapuri after the
childhood companion of Lord Krishna.

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was an Indian lawyer, anti-
colonial nationalist and political ethicist, who employed

independence from British Rule, and in turn inspire movements
for civil rights and freedom across the world.

2019

 The Porbandar Lok Sabha Constituency in the state of


Gujarat is currently held by Rameshbhai Lavjibhai Dhaduk
of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

 In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, Dhaduk beat Lalit


Vasoya of the Indian National Congress (INC) by
receiving 59.36% of the votes cast in this constituency.

 Porbandar is one of the constituencies in 26-seat Gujarat.


In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Porbandar went to the
polls on April 23, 2019, in Phase 3. It saw 56.79% of its
registered electors turning out to vote, against 52.59% in
the previous national elections held in 2014.

 Rameshbhai Lavjibhai Dhaduk defeated his nearest rival,


Lalit Vasoya, by a margin of 229823 votes. While Dhaduk
received 59.36 votes, runner-up Lalit Vasoya polled 35.17
votes.

KIRTI
MANDIR
Kirti Mandir is the memorial house kept in memory
of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi and Kasturba Gandhi located
in city of Porbandar, Gujarat, India.

The foundation stone of modern structure and attractive Kirti


Mandir was laid in 1947 during the lifetime of Gandhi by
Shree Darbar Gopaldas Desai.

The whole credit of constructing this national memorial of


Mahatma Gandhi goes to the famous industrialist, Nanjibahi
Kalidas Mehta, who not only initiated the idea to build a
memorial but also donated the whole money purchase the
ancestral house and also to build new complex called Kirti
Mandir.

The memorial was completed in 1950, by which time Gandhi


was no more. The memorial was named Kirti Mandir and then
Home Minister; Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel inaugurated and
declared open this place for public on 27 May 1950.

The monument Kirti Mandir is symbol of religious integration


of six religions, the architectural elements
of Hindu, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi temple, Church and Mosque are
symbolized at Kirti Mandir integrate, which symbolize Gandhi’s
respect towards all religion.

SUDAMAPURI
TEMPLE
Sudama Temple one of the revered sites of Gujarat. This temple
is dedicated to sudama who was the childhood friend of lord
Krishna.

This temple is often visited by thousand of devotees particularly


the newly married Rajasthani kshtriya couples who visit the
temple to take the blessing.

Located at the centre of Porbandar, it is one exceptional temple


in india which is dedicated to this great devotee of Lord
Krishna.

Sudama temple was constructed in 1902 and 1907 at the centre


of the city. It is one of the historically significant sites in
Gujarat.

HUZOOR
PLACE
The Huzoor Palace, also spelled Huzar Palace, is a palace
in Porbandar, in the Indian state of Gujarat.

It was built by Rana Natwarsinhji, who was the last Maharaja of


the Princely State of Porbandar, in the early years of the 20th
century, with clear European influences.

The palace is situated in the city of Porbandar of the Kathiawar


Peninsula in western Gujarat on the Arabian Sea coast at the
terminal part of the Marine Drive, facing the sea, spread over a
sprawling ground.

The palace was built with a clear European influence, with


many wings and a slanting roof. The windows are very large
with views of the sea.

The various wings of the palace have front and backyards, and
arranged so that they present a natural scenic ambiance
surrounded by gardens and fountains. The ornamental porticos
in the facade are semi-circular in shape, built
with neoclassical columns.
