NetAct Administration > NetAct Administration Operating Procedures > Starting Up and Shutting Down NetAct
Note:
You can reboot only the virtual machines managed by the smanager.pl command.
Rebooting NetAct virtual machines causes NetAct to be unavailable for some time.
1. Log in to a virtual machine (VM) hosting the cpfvmanager service, and switch to the root user.
To locate the right VM, see Locating the right virtual machine for a service.
2. Verify whether all NetAct virtual machines are available and are reporting the status of their services by entering:
Note:
The smanager.pl command cannot reboot a virtual machine that is not accessible.
3. Stop the vManager service so that it does not handle VM reset operations by entering:
4. Log in to the virtual machine in which the nfs service is running as a new connection and switch to root user.
Note:
For non-root login, when executing the smanager.pl reboot NetAct command after switching to the root
user, a confirmation message appears. Type yes to continue with the reboot.
After successful execution of the command, the NFS VM reboots, and the connection to the NFS VM is
terminated. The NFS VM reboot may take some time.
6. Once the connection to vManager VM is available again, log in to the virtual machine hosting the cpfvmanager
service, and switch to root user.
