Basic Graphic Design Webinar

I learned a lot from the webinar of Basic Graphic Design. It’s really timely
because we are in a technological society wherein, we need to be good and effective in
computers. Honestly, I am interested in this field, but I don’t have the means to pursue
it.
For me, Art is special. It is a universal language and allows people to express
themselves through splashes of color, meaningful narratives, and soulful lyrics. We can
also express ourselves in graphic design. I love what Steve Jobs said about design,
“Design is how it works.”

To prove the point of Steve Jobs, the picture above is an example of how design
works. In the left picture which is the original logo design of the 30 th Sea Games that
was held in the Philippines. Many graphic designer did not like the design of the logo,
the design didn’t work for them. That’s why many graphic designer redesign the logo
and it turn out so beautiful, as we can see in the right. Graphic design is how you
express yourself. Our design may work or not for other people.
In order to create an amazing graphic design, we must know the basics. These
are the things that we should consider for our artwork to work for everyone.

Visual Arts Webinar

For Visual arts webinar, it inspired me so much that I created a visual art poster
that expressed my current feelings and emotions. I began to look for images that
expressed my personal emotional state; I was surprised with what emerged from my
visual art poster. It illustrated visual images of stress on one side to images of success on
the opposite side. There was so much nonverbal expression in one piece of visual art, as
it spoke for itself without words.
I honestly learn faster visually. Since every individual perceives beauty
differently, there is no strict measure of beauty. Consequently, I started investigating
every piece of art with reference to how the audience understands of it. In such a way, I
have become more visually literal. I realized one key point which follows the idea that
the perception of art is quite complex. It should be treated from different perspectives.
Many individuals treat art differently. Some pay attention to colours while others analyze
the deep meaning of the painting. That is why every element is important in
understanding art.

These are the types of Visual arts that we must remember when we want to create
one. Many popular forms of visual arts are coffee painting, watercolor, mixed media and
etc.
In conclusion, this kind of activity is informative and useful. I enjoy watching the
webinars. It makes me proud knowing that many people from San Mateo is good in this
craft. I’m hopeful that we can go back to school to showcase our visions and talents
when it comes to arts.
