Driven Driven
The compound motor Is a combination of the series motor and shunt motor (Figure 2.172).
The resulting characteristics of the compound motor is in between those of series and the shuunt
ator depending upon the strength of both fields as shown in Figure 2.173.
If the motor has only a few turns on the series field, then the motor will have better startinS
torque and retain good speed regulation.
