Definition :

 The gas–liquid ratio is the ratio of a volume of gas

divided by a volume of liquid at the same temperature
and pressure.

 is useful for characterizing the behavior of a reservoir ,

The choice of GLR depends on the fluids in the reservoir.
GLR :

 The ratio of gas volume to water volume at the same

temperature and pressure, or gas–water ratio, is a
sensitive indicator of the behavior of a gas reservoir
connected to a water source, such as an aquifer or
injected water.

 The gas–oil ratio, or the ratio of gas volume to oil volume

at the same temperature and pressure, provides
information about the behavior of an oil reservoir.
GLR types :

 Two commonly used gas–liquid ratios are the :-

1/ gas–oil ratio (GOR) .
2/gas–water ratio (GWR).
Figure shown GLR :

GLRMIN corresponds to the formation gas/liquid ratio while

GLRMAX is the gas/liquid ratio at which the pressure traverse
curve with the minimum pressure gradient is found.
