What is your inquiry question that interests you for further research? It should be a question that
connects with a purpose, passion or personalized area of interest for you. This is a question that
you cannot just google an answer for. Please see examples from your Capstone booklet.
My inquiry question is:
How will taking pictures around B.C improve my skills for photography?
Rationale/context: Detail your reasons for choosing this inquiry question. Explain WHY you are
choosing to investigate this topic as a major area of focus. How does this area of inquiry connect
to your passion(s), purpose? Why is it of personal interest to you?
Photography is my passion because I love traveling and taking photos and sharing it to others.
The reason why photography interest me is because it’s helpful when you’re trying to make
memories
The background knowledge I got from photography was from Tik-tok, when I was on Tik Tok I
saw a photographer ask a random man on the street if he wanted nice pictures of him, the
man accepted the offer and took the pictures. When I saw the results, I felt really inspired I
knew that photography looked like a lot of fun and it looked creative. My connection is taking
photography class. We are learning a lot on how to use the camera and how to take
professional pictures.
Career connections: What is your intended career area at this point in time? What
connections does this inquiry question have to your life, academic and/ or career goals?
Travelling around B.C will improve my skills for my future because I will know all the locations
because I know I will be going to these locations for the future, and I've been debating of
doing photography as a side job so I can be a pilot and photographer at the same time. So
0
doing photography will improve my skills for the future.
Interdisciplinary and core competencies connections: What subject areas and core
competencies will be connected with your project? Outline and explain the connections.
Creative thinking
I can use the environment around me, including others, and my unconscious mind to
generate new ideas
I can use the environment as art, any picture I take of the environment will be art, the people
in the background of the photo can be a part of the art.
Communication
I can reflect on the processes of learning and share what I have learned.
When my father and the photography teacher teach me how to do photography and I improve
from it I will be teaching others how to do it.
Personal & Cultural Identity
I understand what's important to me
Photography is important to me because I can use those photos as memories in the future
Personal Awareness & Responsibility
I understand learning takes patience and time
When I’m learning how to use a camera and how to take perfect angled pictures it will take a
while to learn, and I know I need to be patient about it because learning takes time and if I
learn slowly, I will get better at it.
Social Responsibility
I am aware of my community and environment and work independently and
collaboratively for benefits of others
When I’m doing this project, I will be taking pictures and summarize that picture all by myself
this whole project will be done all by myself.
Critical Thinking
I understand the purpose for my work and consider my audience
Before I put my picture in the journal, I will ask my family members/friends if the picture is
good or not, if they say the picture isn’t good, I will Retake that picture and make it look better.
Capstone Presentation medium: select one or more project mediums you wish to use to
present your project. Outline and give details about how you will present your project once
completed. You may use a combination of mediums.
o Electronic portfolio: Prezi or PPT
o Physical portfolio
o Website
o iMovie presentation
o YouTube channel
I will be using an online journal and put all my pictures there and make different chapters so
the teacher knows where I took those exact pictures, I will also be adding why I took this
1
picture, and what the picture is based on (nature, cars, cities, beach)
Description of my Capstone project. Specific Project Details of the Capstone Project: what
will you research, create, study, produce, solve, investigate? What product will be produced
at the end of this project for evaluation. Write a one-page description outlining your
proposal.
I will be researching recommended locations in B.C, I will create an online journal and make
different chapters of different cities, so it won't be mixed up. During the spring I will be
studying a lot about photography and how to use a camera and how to take professional
photos.
The resources I will be using is a vehicle for travel, the technology I will be using is a Camera
for the photography, my plan is to go around B.C and take photos and talk about why, where
and when did I take that photo. During this project I will learn how to become better at
photography
My dad did photography at a young age, during the spring he’ll teach me a lot about
photography, he also has his own camera. During the school time my photography teacher
(MR. Dykman) will teach me a lot about photography too.
Project limitations: What are some project limitations and potential obstacles that you foresee
that might affect progress with your Capstone Project?
2
My dad might not be able to drive me around because he hates driving far away and he might
be busy. The cost of gas could limit how far I go. My Adobe Photography editing skills might
not be very good.
Other considerations: List and detail any other related information/ considerations about
your project that you feel should be included in your project proposal.
I might use my friend’s car as a model for my pictures to make them nicer, and I’ve been
thinking if I should teach others on how to take photos by using photo simulator.
