” How you as computer science student could adopt to the Remote Teaching

Learning”

All students here in the Philippines are new to Online classes due to the

pandemic or the outbreak of “Corona Virus / Covid-19” so the head or the

government officials of the Philippines insisted that all students where to study at

home to prevent the spread of the virus. Nowadays lots of students are facing

difficulties in studying specially to those who cannot afford or to those who are poor

because the things needed in studying in online or in online classes is to have an

internet or gadget / smartphone that will help the student to connect to their prof /

teacher or interact to them through / via online in this kind of class most student

without wi-fi connection or internet will encounter difficulties in their online studies

because some of them needed to purchase load that is worth 50 to 100php in cash

and because of the pandemic some student need to save some money because

their parents lost their jobs or businesses due to the pandemic or the corona virus

outbreak.

There are pros and cons through Online Learning / Teaching and one of those

is taking a lesson without visuals or camera meaning to say is that if the camera of a

student is off you cannot observe or see what the students are doing if they are

listening or not and another one but aside that it will be the students fault if he/she

did not listen to the prof and another one is that when taking seat works or quizzes

through online students can cheat while doing the quizzes or seat works because

they have access to the internet but if that were to happened students will not gain

any knowledge to what is being discussed so encouraging them to listen and study it
is a must. Remote teaching can be one of the solutions to prevent those incidents

because student will be out of their home and is at the school together with their

classmate in that way the prof. can see or monitor the student through online

interaction with students to prof/teachers.

Although remote teaching /learning is good but to some students it maybe

difficult for them nowadays because maybe some of the students have a problems

when money is involved like I’ve said because of the outbreak of the Corona Virus

Covid-19 many of the Filipino residents have loss their jobs and businesses so

meaning to say some students have to find another way to earn money to feed

themselves and their family while studying. And the solutions to that is to give them

modules to answers but it will be self-taught from there on so but answering modules

can also be stressful to some students because of the deadline that it has to be

submitted that’s why it became an issue because some students committed suicide

because of their modules so adjusting the schedules of submission is a must and

also prof. / teachers should also be kind to their students who are facing difficulties

nowadays.

Well to me as a students of computer science I think adapting to this

kind of teaching and learning is not that difficult because for so many weeks that I

have been staying in indoors I will be able to go outside with my classmates and

friends of course doing remote teaching / learning while following safety protocols

about the Covid-19 just to prevent the spread of the Virus. And remote teaching can

also help students build their social interaction to one another in a good and healthy

ways and also for me observer or guards among the room of the students is a must

just to prevent them from direct contact to one another.
