Developed by EADS TEST &

SERVICES, the ATEC Series 6 is the
world standard in automatic testers
for on board commercial avionics.
More than 300 units have been sold
worldwide. Most airlines, OEMs,
maintenance centres, and many
Armed Forces use this avionics
maintenance test standard.

Applications
The ATEC Series 6 covers every major
control system and new avionics
equipment on the Airbus and
Boeing aircraft families.

World test standard advanced

for A380 maintenance
For Airbus A380 maintenance, the
ATEC Series 6 has been selected
with a library of 30 Test Programme
Sets (TPS), corresponding to the
aircraft’s major equipment families.
It can also be coupled with Airman,
the new global logistics system for
the Airbus family.
Additionally, the ATEC Series 6 will be
the standard tool for the downloading
of numerous on-board software
suites on this new aircraft.
 Data loading for the A380
For the downloading of on-board
ATEC Series 6

software and especially for the

A380 modular avionics, a test
programme set library named ‘Load
Programme Set’ (LPS) has been
developed and relies on the following
features:
- re-use of the existing Test Unit ATEC Series 6
Adapter (TUA) for data loading,
- re-use of the existing configuration
procedures from the TPS,
- re-use of the ATEC Series 6 existing
protocols: AFDX (A615-A), A615-3,
CAN, RS 232, …

The ATEC Series 6 possesses a
library of more than 600 TPS (more
than 4,000 standards), developed
by EADS TEST & SERVICES together
with several avionics Equipment
Manufacturers (THALES Group,
Airbus France, SAFRAN Group,
Honeywell…) according to the
ARINC 625-1 standard.
The ATEC Series 6 is used for
maintenance testing of every major
equipment family: flight control
systems, primary and secondary
flight displays, engine control
systems, fuel monitoring systems,
landing/brake control systems,
auxiliary power units and new
generation avionics.

Modular architecture
The ATEC Series 6 is fully compliant
with international norms and
standards: VXI instrumentation, IEEE
488 bus, ARINC 608A switching and
interface. It is designed as a modular
architecture using off-the-shelf
resources and is available in different
configurations adapted to users’ needs.
