ELS Q2.

M1

Environmentalists help the public make informed decisions about the use of limited natural
resources. They do research, produce reports, write articles, lecture, issue press releases,
lobby congress, fundraise, and campaign.
If I am one of the environmentalists and was assigned to one of the forests in the Philippines,
which happened to be the location of some endangered species, coordinating with local
governments and relying upon my plans to them is the first thing that I need to do. They could
enact environmental laws that I want to suggest, based on what I am observing in the forest
that I was assigned. I could also conduct a "Planting trees campaign." Because During times of
extreme heat or precipitation, animals can seek shade and shelter under the trees without
being away from their food source. Young trees can provide food for animals as well but need
to be managed to ensure a percentage of new trees can grow and are not fully consumed by
wildlife and from their leafy branches to their tangled roots. They also provide a habitat for a
host of plants and animals.
Conserving the species of flora and fauna is very important because it saves our plants and
other wildlife from going extinct. Once gone, they're gone forever, and there's no going back.
Losing even a single species can have disastrous impacts on the rest of the ecosystem because
the effects will be felt throughout the food chain. From providing cures to deadly diseases to
maintaining natural ecosystems and improving the overall quality of life, the benefits of
preserving threatened and endangered species are invaluable.
ELS Q2. M2

An ecosystem is defined as the geographic place in which non-living and

living organisms such as plants, animals, and humans together with the weather
and landscapes come all together.

You are an Ecosystem." The human body is also an ecosystem. There are trillions of tiny
organisms living in and on it. These organisms are known as microbes and include bacteria,
viruses, and fungi. There are more of them living on just your skin right now than there are
people on Earth. And there are a thousand times more than that in your gut!

All the microbes in and on the human body form communities. These communities are part
of the ecosystem of the human body. Together, all of these communities are known as the
human microbiome. No two human microbiomes are the same. Because of this, you are a
unique ecosystem. There is no other ecosystem like your body.
Perpetuation means a continuation of species. This is ensured by reproduction since
reproduction aims to increase the number of organisms of a species over time. Reproduction
is the life process that ensures the perpetuation of life and genetic diversity is mainly
generated through recombination processes in sexual and asexual reproduction, which is,
hence, a process of fundamental importance for population and species. While the numbers of
organisms of a species are increasing over time, life will also evolve.

One example of species that reproduce is humans. Human reproduction is essential for the
continuance of the human species. The male's job is to produce sperm cells and deliver them
into the female reproductive tract. The female's job is to produce ova (eggs), receive the
sperm, and nourish the embryo that grows inside her. But how long does it take a human to
reproduce? The normal duration it takes for the development of the fetus from the time of
fertilization in the womb of its mother is called the gestation period. In humans, the gestation
period is for about 9 months or approximately 280 days. It is calculated from the incipience of
their last menstrual period. But not all reproduction will be going to be normal. Some will
experience difficulties.

The question is, how will the offspring be affected if one of the gametes or one of the parents
carries an impaired number of haploid chromosomes? Aneuploidy can be lethal or result in
serious developmental disorders such as Turner Syndrome (X monosomy) or Downs Syndrome
(trisomy 21). Turner syndrome is a condition that affects only females, resulting when one of
the X chromosomes (sex chromosomes) is missing or partially missing. It can cause a variety of
medical and developmental problems, including short height, failure of the ovaries to develop,
and heart defects. And down syndrome (sometimes called Down's syndrome) is a condition in
which a child is born with an extra copy of their 21st chromosome — hence its other name,
trisomy 21. It causes physical and mental developmental delays and disabilities.
