5.1 Description
The tank is conditioned for 2 hours at 24±2 °C and 45±5 % relative humidity. The tank is placed in a
position that is 10° from vertical and is filled with demineralized water. The tank is filled and emptied 3
times and the volume is determined using the density of water and the mass difference between the full

6.1 Method
Activation protection
Method: Normal use of device
Description: A child must not be able to activate the device by accident. If the device uses a series of
button presses to prevent accidental activation this is tested using variations of button presses.
Test procedure: With the device deactivated, the button is pressed 1 through 4 times as well as a
continuous button press for a minimum of 15 seconds. Other combinations can be used depending on the
configuration of the device.
Tamper evident
Method: Visual inspection
Description: A visual inspection of the container to ascertain that it contains a seal and that the seal has
not been broken.
Mechanical pull
Method: DS/EN 71-1: 2014
Description: The E-cigarette is pulled using a gradual force in the opening direction.
Test procedure: The E-cigarette is attached to the testing apparatus using suitable clamps. Attach the
movable part of the apparatus to the opening of the device.
Apply a force of (90±2) N in the opening direction of the e-liquid container. Apply the force gradually over a
period of 5 seconds and maintain the force for 10 seconds.

G8:09/2019.
This means that results above the detection limit are always reported with two significant digits. Results are
evaluated with the same number of significant digits as the corresponding limit values, and conformity is
based on results being less than or equal to limit values.
For limit values with more than two significant digits, the third digit will be used to confirm whether a result
is below or equal to the limit value. It will always be indicated in the evaluation table if this expanded
evaluation is performed.
TEST REPORT
Electrical safety for e-cigarettes and accessories.
General remarks:
"(See appended table)" refers to a table appended to the report.
Compliance assessment
The statements of conformity are made on the basis of the testing standards and by applying the
measurement uncertainties according to the rules in the applied standards as follows:
compliance is deemed to occur if no measured value exceeds the respective limit.
non-compliance is deemed to occur if any measured value exceeds the respective limit.
No additional margin to the limit is considered under the condition that the measurement instruments fulfil
the requirements of the IECEE OD-5014 and the measurement uncertainty does not exceed the limits given
in the relevant standards.
