SWM Steering Wheel Control Unit

MID 250 PPID 142 FMI 2


State of the buttons on the steering wheel.
Fault code is only registered if the codes PSID17, PSID18, SID231, SID251, SID254 are active
and disappears after troubleshooting with these codes.

MID 250 SID 231 FMI 2


Data channel SAE J1939.
SWM records a data channel failure SAE J1939. Shorting the wires of the data channel to power
or to ground.

MID 250 SID 251 FMI 3


Power supply SWM.
Supply voltage of the SWM exceeds 36 V. for more than 5 seconds. The generator is faulty or
the engine was started from an external power source.

MID 250 SID 251 FMI 4


Power Supply SWM.
Supply voltage of the SWM is below 9 V. for more than 5 seconds. Broken power wire or short
to ground.

s. Short circuit to a higher voltage of wires between the SWM unit and the button unit.

Voltage at the output of the SWM block to the button block is below 7 V. for more than 5 s. An
open wire between the SWM unit and the button unit.

SWM does not receive a signal from the button block for more than 30 seconds, or the signal
received from the button block is invalid. Open or partial damage to the wiring of the data
channel between the SWM unit and the button unit.
