You just held the summer picnic event in Scenario 1. Overall, it was a success and
the informal feedback you received from employees was very positive. However,
you did not meet the CEO’s goals for the event, which were for 80% of employees
to attend the event while keeping the cost under $10,000.

Write an e-mail to the CEO to recap the event and its goals. Make up the details
needed.

Subject: Summer Picnic

Dan,

The summer event was a for the most part a success with the employees. Our goal was to

have 80% of the employees attend. Due to family obligations we only had in attendance 70% of

the employees. The budget was to spend under $10,000 for the event. We spent $8,000. We were

able to meet our goal of under $10,000.

I think that next year’s event needs to have a date set early. It will give the employees

time to plan. So we can have 80% or more in attendance. During the day I did hear comments

from the employees that there was not enough of a selection for them to choose from. There are

many cultures in the shop and we should have some different types of foods. I will be posting on

the white boards around the shop to find out what the employees would like to see at the next

Summer Picnic event.

Overall, the employees did have a great time and it was a great way to have everyone together.
