Circle of My Multicultural Self

- Place your name in the center circle of the structure above.

- Write in each of the satellite circles an identifier or descriptor that you feel is important in
defining you. This can include foreign individual, same sex, parent, educator, religion, or any
descriptor with which you identify.

1. Share a story about a time you were especially proud to identify yourself with one of the
descriptors you used above.

When I was a child I have so many doubt to myself that I can’t do this, I can’t do that Im
always like that. But those things got changed when I met my one of my god mother her name
is Fe Glindo she has a strong personality, she stand as my disciplinarian when I was a child.
One thing I learn from her is to believe in yourself that everything you want to achieve or gain
even it is hard if you have the determination and willingness to achieve that goals, dreams with
courage. Being believer is one of the best thing I learned from her. believe what’s Gods plan for
you and believe in yourself that you can achieve those things you want to achieve.

2. Share a story about a time it was especially painful to be identified with one of your identifiers
or descriptors.

I experienced to bullied by some of my classmates, cousins and even my own family just
because of my soft personality they always makes me feel different and week to their eyes.
They always makes me cry but this is my past experience. Because of my skinny body and dark
skins they don’t want me to join in every group of friends that they has. But then I learned to be
humble and understand those painful days that I get bullied, discriminated, separated for them,
crying every night. I am thankful for those things if that’s not happened I can’t realize to change
my personality, my appearance.

3. Name a stereotype associated with one of the groups with which you identify that is not
consistent with who you are.

Actually I don’t have any stereotype in my present time, but I can share my past
stereotyping moments that I experienced from the past. They call ‘’ Ting ting” because of my tin
and malnourished body when I was in elementary, High school, Senior High but not in college I
learned how to get off skinny.

4. Fill in the following sentence: I am unique in God’s eye but I am NOT a broom stick
anymore.
