PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS
Planning, coordinating , conducting and evaluating a comprehensive choir or music ministry.

MISSION :

VISION:

DESCRIPTION
CHOIR – Group of singers and musicians serving God through music ministry.

ADULT CHOIR – the membership of the adult church shall consist of individuals , minimm of 18
years of age who have accepted Jesus Christ and His founded Roman Catholic Churchand
posses a desire to serve God to the MUSIC MINISTRY.
YOUTH CHOIR : Shall consist of individuals minimum of 5 Years of age

PURPOSE OF MUSIC MINISTRY

To share the Gospel of Jesus Christ through songs , encourage believers in their walk
with Christ , lead the community in worship (Mass, Prayer gatherings etc) and provide avenue
through which individuals may share their gift of talents. Assist the youth and leadership by
providing input about needs and activities that meet the interest of the young ministers

RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist the priest in planning and be responsible for the selection of all daily and weekly
Mass songs.
2. Be aware of weddings, funeral , or other events to be held in the Church.
 3. Coordinate the SPPC Choir in the parish with the calendar and schedules of activities.
4. Direct music group monthly or quarterly meeting
5. Supervise the work of all choir leaders, delegates works and responsibility as needed.
6. Give counsel and direction to song leaders , accompanist, and other musicians who
serve the church.
7. Conduct SPPSC , Choir groups election of officers.
8. Perform other duties as assigned by the Parish priest.

JOB DISCRIPTION , RULES AND GUIDELINES :

MASS CELEBRATION /PERFORMANCE
1. Members are expected to be on time.
2. Members are expected to refrain from eating and unnecessary talking during Mass,
performance and rehearsal.
3. Members are expected to refrain from using unnecessary cellphones and other gudgets
during Mass celebration except for emergency purposes only.

MUSICIAN
Principal Function – responsible to the choir for playing instruments for churcj services such as
Mass celebration, wedding Mass , funeral Mass, and other special church events.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist the choir in planning church services, rehearsal and other special music events.
2. Play for services of the church as assigned.
3. Serve as ccompanist for choir or soloist.
4. Be responsible for overseeing the regular maintenance of the church musical
instruments.
CHOIR DIRECTORS
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Direct music during Mass services and rehearsals.
2. Assist the music ministry in planning , rehearsal and other music events.
3. Attend musicians rehearsals if necessary.
4. Conduct choir rehearsals
5. Be responsible for the selection of music in the absence of the music ministry/leader
CHOIR OFFICERS /PRESIDENT/COORDINATORS
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Conduct choir business meeting.
2. Approve in cooperation with the minister of music of invitation to engagement outside
of the church .
3. Approve choir special music events and invitations.
4. Recruit new members.
5. Approve proposal, request and application for new members in coordination to the
parish priest.
6. Contact absent members.
7. Advise member of dismissal from the choir.
8. Responsible for the planning and coordination of all choir functions.
9. Plan for choir fellowships, outings, and inreach /outreach activities.
10. Provide all new members with the copy of the choir guidelines.

MUSIC MINISTRY AND PCY IN TANDEM

MUSIC AND DRAMA

The youth (St. John Parish PCY) and Music ministry (Koro De San Juan CHOIR) will work in
tandem to develop the skills of our youth as used in worship and evangelism. Develop Christian
musical and/or Drama based programs to share the acquired skills of our youth for the primary
purpose of enabling them to grow in experience towards the service of the Lord and His
Church.
