Niveda Foundation

NIVEDA FOUNDATION is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving our society. We continue

to serve our people regardless of religion or political affiliation to guarantee that they are treated with
decency and respect. We engage our time and money in a variety of welfare activities, ranging from
women's empowerment services in India to child welfare activities.

Niveda Foundation launched an education mobile van service where we go and teach to provide education
to some of society's weaker sections where individuals do not have the wherewithal to educate their
children. Staff employees and volunteers are committed to giving back to society and make every effort
to do so.

Vision and Mission Statement

“OUR MISSION IS TO EDUCATE AND EMPOWER THE UN-SERVED WITH THEIR WORTH, FOR
A BETTER TOMORROW”.

The Niveda Foundation is based on six main principles. These are also the pillars that support the
foundation and drive them to help others.

Projects Undertaken

1) Social media promotion of Niveda: We worked on the promotion aspect of the Niveda foundation
so that the reach of Niveda can be increased on various social media platforms like Facebook,
Instagram, and YouTube.

2) Education and Training: We taught students from Class 1 to Class VIII, various subjects in
English, Math, and Science. We also took basics of marketing classes for unskilled youth who are
trying to become job-ready.

2
3) Contacting companies for placement assistance: We also contacted various organizations who
are in and around Noida sector 22, 23 24, 25, and sector 55 to sector 60 for possible collaboration
with Niveda for the upskilling of youth and women and later on recruiting them for the job.

3
4) Conducting and participating in the plantation drive: We along with Niveda have participated
in a plantation drive wherein we have planted various samplings in an area that was earlier a waste
dumping ground but was later converted to a green park.

5) Video Editing: We have made videos and edited them to showcase Niveda foundation’s work and
build awareness among the community regarding Niveda and the ways Niveda can contribute to
the upliftment of society.

Projects Focus

a.) Social Media Promotion: Social media marketing is a type of digital marketing that makes use of the
popularity of social media networks to reach marketing and branding objectives. But it's not just a matter
of setting up business accounts and publishing whenever you want. Social media marketing necessitates
a dynamic plan with measurable objectives, which includes:

4
● Keeping your profiles up to date and optimizing them
● Post images, films, tales, and live videos that define your brand and appeal to a targeted audience.
● Monitoring your reputation and responding to comments, shares, and likes.
● To create a community around your brand, follow and engage with your followers, customers, and
influencers.

Objectives: To promote Niveda Foundation on social media through various engagement posts,
stories, and making videos.

b.) Education and Training: Education has long been the deciding factor in people's ability to overcome
their constraints. Gifted and hardworking children now have access to opportunities they could never have
dreamed of previously thanks to the establishment of excellent humanitarian organizations. Learning
empowers today's students to become deliberate, knowledgeable decision-makers, generating a beneficial
value chain that can improve entire communities, in addition to higher education. The government's
objective for education, jobs, and prosperity for all is closely matched with the NGO's mission.

Objectives: To ensure that adequate education is imparted to youth of underprivileged communities

so that society at the bottom level of the pyramid could be uplifted. We taught children of class I to
VIII in various subjects like Mathematics, English, and Science.

c.) Talking to companies for placement assistance: Niveda also provides training to underprivileged
women to make them job-ready so that they can be empowered in terms of their confidence and being
independent. For this, Niveda contacts different organizations who are interested and willing to partner
with NGOs for this benevolent purpose. Companies also visit NGO centres and impart training to NGO
women to make them job-ready and after training they recruit them.

Objectives: One of the main objectives of imparting education to underprivileged women is to make
them job-ready. For this, we contacted various companies who are willing to partner with Niveda
for training women and ultimately recruiting women of Niveda organization for their jobs.

5
d.) Participating In Plantation Drive: Niveda foundation also plays a very important role in the
upliftment of our environment apart from ensuring the well-being of underprivileged children and women.
NGO conducts plantation drives at regular intervals so that the greenery of society is maintained.

Objectives: Maintaining the greenery of society is one of the major parts of NGO activities. Niveda
converted various waste dumping sites into green parks or playgrounds by cleaning the site and
planting samplings over there.

e.) Video editing: Because video is still the most engaging kind of online content, any marketer or
business owner who wants to stay on top of the digital marketing game should be aware of the most
popular types of videos right now, as well as what to expect in the following year and beyond. As indicated
by a flood of data, video is getting increasingly popular.

Objectives: Niveda uses video editing services to support its promotion activities that Niveda uses to
increase awareness among the community about its operation and the kind of work Niveda engages
in. We have assisted Niveda in Video making services and editing it so that Niveda could post that
on its YouTube channel.

Projects Methodology

During the first week, we started with visiting NGO centres and got to know about the work Niveda is
doing on the field. We visited two centres of Niveda, one is in sector-22 and the other one at sector-31 at
Nithari village. At both centres, we undertook classes of students from class I to Class VIII. We taught
various subjects ranging from Mathematics, Science to English and a bit of Hindi. In classes, we started
with the introduction of ourselves and also took the introduction of students from them. Most of the
students were from the underprivileged position. We started by asking students about their curriculum.
Got to know about the subjects they were feeling difficulty and then started with teaching them and
continued for around three weeks.

6
During the second week, apart from teaching we also worked on social media promotion. To start with,
we initially began awareness amongst our friends, relatives about the work Niveda does. We encouraged
them to follow Niveda foundation's social media page like on Facebook and Instagram. We also made
various Instagram and Facebook posts to be posted on their social media page. The organizational mentor
helped us in getting us the required photos and videos so that we could make a social media post using
those materials. Also, apart from teaching the kids at Niveda Centres, we took online classes on the basics
of marketing for youth aged 18 years and above. For that classes, we prepared a presentation on the basics
of marketing. We explained to them about the day to day concepts of marketing like 4P, SWOT Analysis,
Porter’s 5 forces etc.

During the third and fourth week, we worked on the part where we were not only working on social media
posts and teaching to students but we also started interacting with companies and startups so that women
who are getting training at NGO centres should be able to get a job after she completed her training. The
youngsters, who are largely from destitute and underprivileged backgrounds, reside in slums or modest
houses on the outskirts of the city. It is difficult for them to progress in education due to a lack of highly-
educated family members, as well as poverty, inadequacy, and a general lack of trust. When the
organisation asked people to join up to work with children as facilitators and volunteers, many
entrepreneurs, stay-at-home moms, and working professionals jumped at the chance. So, to start with we
did our secondary research and made the list of possible companies with whom we would be contacted
for placement assistance. Then we started contacting the companies through mail and phone no. and
started pitching them about our initiative and Niveda foundation work. We contacted several companies
during our third and 4th weeks for placement assistance.

Apart from contacting companies we also participated in the plantation drive that the Niveda foundation
conducts regularly so that the greenery of society is maintained. Niveda converted various waste dumping
sites into green parks or playgrounds by cleaning the site and planting samplings over there. We planted
numerous sampling at the park in sector 31 which was earlier a waste dumping ground.

Learnings from the project

First, let’s talk about what we learnt about the organization. Aside from enrolling children in school, the
teaching staff is responsible for these children's education. Special faculty is assigned to instruct students

7
in computer operation and courses such as marketing, among other things. The remainder of the teaching
staff is in charge of looking after the academic needs of the students, such as the need for charts, stationery
for students, subject review, tables, and preliminary education such as alphabets for kids who have yet to
enroll in the school. This teaching experience which we have gathered here in Niveda, be it teaching
younger kids or young adults, personally has increased the respect for teachers a lot. You need to have a
great deal of patience, human understanding and determination to educate someone. The organization held
a lot of plantation activities and drives in schools, nearby parks and also along the roadside. Participating
in them made us more environmentally responsible and motivated us to spread this awareness ahead.
When we look at the final result of what we did around the Nithari area, it fills us with joy and pride as
whenever we come across that road we get to see the beautiful garden and green area that we help develop.

Challenges faced during the internship

Teaching young children is always a task and it can get tiring at times. It was a fun, new and enriching
experience for both of us to teach such energetic and enthusiastic kids. But things do not go your way
always. As we were new to teaching, especially very young kids it demanded a lot of patience and time to
make them understand basic concepts. One has to keep his/her mind open while teaching as different kids
have different grasping power. To make them understand and focus on something was the big challenge
for us initially but we sailed through in the end.
Contacting industries for job opportunities was also a bit difficult initially as it need a lot of research work
to be done to identify relevant industries, get their contacts and finally communicate with them. We did a
lot of secondary research, called and mailed companies. It was a great learning experience as it is quite
common in the sales and marketing domain which we are both inclined to.

Recommendations:

● The management team should improve the lighting in certain classes of the schools. Dim light
makes it not only difficult to study but it is harmful to the eyes of the children.
● Students should be provided with letter slates, etc. which are practiced to improve the handwriting
of students of those who do not have access to notebooks.
● The management team should make more assignments and worksheets for students as they might
forget what they learn. It will keep them in practice and help to access them properly.
● Just like the digital marketing course that was going on, we recommend a few more courses like
personal financing, etc. that can help the youngsters and adult in managing their funds.
