Questions:
1. Why do you think workers in many organizations are paid to do, rather than to think? Does
this make sense? Why or why not?
- I think workers in many organizations are paid to do rather than to think because as of
the moment some companies and organizations are lack of workers who are more capable of
doing. Yes, this make sense, because not all of the workers are paid the way they think, but most

tasks, it is more of assigning and just focus on the tasks that have been assigned to them and will
not mind other tasks that are not assigned to them.

highest quality ideas and solutions to be accepted and adopted by the workgroup.

6. What is the impact on decision-making of giving people responsibility for their own work?
Why are self-directed team members happier than workers under a traditional hierarchy?
- The impact on decision-making of giving people responsibility for their own work is
that people who don't take responsibility for their work or actions are likely to have a negative
impact on their team. Look for apathy, finger pointing, missed deadlines, or phrases like "It's not
my fault" to spot team members who are avoiding accountability. Self-directed team members
are happier than workers under a traditional hierarchy because the team makes all decisions
internally about leadership and how work is done.
