Review of:

ISO 9001:2015 Quality management systems - requirements

➢ For organisations offering FM, only generic requirements are specified

ISO 41001:2018 Facility Management system – requirements with guidance


➢ Requirements are targeted specifically for FM operations including:
▪ Risk & opportunity analysis at strategic, organisation-wide, project levels to identify FM significant risks:
▪ Planning and control to fulfil service delivery in meeting Demand & stakeholders’ req’ds:
• coordination with interested parties;
• resources such as budgeting, human & technology, stock mgt;
• emergency preparedness & contingency plan, etc.
▪ FM information and data, examples:
• Facility asset characteristics (e.g. ownership, design parameters, vendor information, in service date)
• Financial mgt (historical cost, date of acquisition, life cycle costing analysis, useful service lives)
▪ Management review: Financial and non-financial performance criteria; service improvement, cost reduction or
improvement in environmental & social performance, etc.
