PERSONAL SWOT ANALYSIS

Principle of management class DH47IBU07

Lê Nhựt Tiến - 31211026235

My Living Motto

“Remember, the storm is a good opportunity for the pine and the cypress to show their

strength and their stability” - Ho Chi Minh.

From the first time I met the quote, I was impressed by its meaning, thanks to it, I was

motivated to overcome many challenges in life. Explaining this quote, each of us in this life is

the same, only when we face challenges can our hidden strength be revealed and become the

chosen one. Previously, I was an introvert, I always hid my feelings and abilities, so I never

actively faced difficult challenges, so I was often ignored by others. This quote has given me

an endless source of inspiration, I find myself changing a lot, realizing many different

problems and aspects of life. Today, high-quality human resources are increasing, requiring

us to actively cope with tasks and challenges to prove to others that we are capable (Bowen,

Lawler, 1992). To get higher positions, I need to be competent, qualified to perform the task,

and have to show everyone that I am better than others. Thanks to this sentence, I got rid of

the feeling of peer pressure, each person has a different strength, no one is the same. Right

now, I am a positive person and always like to face difficulties to find opportunities for the

future.

Vision
Personal SWOT analysis 3

I want to become a complete person, receive respect from everyone as well as gain the

trust of colleagues and surrounding relationships: friends, relatives, community, etc, not only

in my field but also in other fields. My expectation is to build a friendly, effective, and

sociable working environment... everyone can bring into full play their strengths and hidden

strengths in always completing assigned tasks. Besides, bring my values to others and

contribute to society and achieve my career goals in life. For some, I expect to be a decisive

and creative leader as well as a manager working in big corporations.

Misson

Regarding the process that I have set up to achieve my future goals, my university

years are very important, I need to learn, from soft skills to specialized skills, and practice

positive thinking. Communication skills are essential to becoming a good leader (Barrett,

2006), I have to train that skill and apply it to real life. Gaining experience is indispensable.

In near future, if the Covid-19 epidemic is reduced, then in addition to studying at school, I

plan to get a part-time job to gain more experience. Besides, foreign languages improvement

is vital, to reach my goals in the future, I need to have a good enough English ability to work

at large corporations as well as foreign enterprises (Pandey, Pandey, 2014). Improving

communication skills is necessary as well as building a wide range of relationships. In

addition, I need to have a comprehensive understanding of economic-related knowledge such

as theories, regulations, and principles. Learning how to judge a person and control his

emotions is integral to being a good commander (MacDonald, McElfresh, 1947).

Strengths

I am quite confident in my communication skills, and with that skill can help the

lecture easily get sympathy from others and it is not too difficult to make transactions as well

as may easy to win in a negotiation (Bambacas, 2008). I have many soft skills and I think

they will all be useful to my work in the future. I draw pretty well and have an aesthetic eye,

so I can design templates that impress others. Currently, I am obtaining 5 certificates in the

field of economics, and that is what makes me stand out from others, besides, I also have

learned about stocks and tried investing. I am a person with good analytical ability and often

give opinions and look at problems from many perspectives, so the projects that I undertake

are often less risky. For some, proficient use of new technologies is also one of my strong

points.

Weaknesses

The language barrier is a big obstacle when going to school as well as accessing the

latest specialized knowledge (Giovannoni, Xiong, 2019). And also because of some troubles

in language that sometimes I am not confident when using them in front of people.

Sometimes I will feel myself overwhelmed with work and I often have to stay up late to

complete them and I know that is not good and does not fit with the work schedule of the

majority. I usually don't have a detailed long-term plan but only set specific goals and

deadlines, so it can be seen that I often have a lot of free time and quite a busy time, I know

that it really doesn't make sense and i'm trying to fix them every day.

Opportunities

Studying at the international institute ISB is a big opportunity, there are many clubs

and ISB regularly organizes and invites speakers. Besides, the school often organizes

orientation sessions for students and encourages students to exchange in other countries (

UEH – International School of Business), I find that this is a great chance for personal

development, I can explore the world, know more about the people in many places as and

earn special experience (Marciniak, Winnicki, 2019). Added to that, the institute has links

with many businesses and has exchanges with businesses so that I can early prepare for the

future. With the development of technology and the dense web surfing of my day, I can learn

a lot more things as well as different skills easily and efficiently. Simultaneously,

associations and industry pioneers have proposed creative methodologies for businesses to

oversee and key resources (Budhwar, Cumming, Verbeke, 2020). Covid 19 is an open

opportunity for the young generation to find more suitable positions, many new methods to

promote development and in many fields. My business field has great potential for growth

and I can get many opportunities to advance in my career later on as well as to invest in many

other areas

Threats

Competition is indispensable in every field, there are many competitors from

prestigious universities and they are very good in their areas of expertise (Anh et al., 2009).

Therefore, I need to develop further so as to achieve my goals. When studying and working,

sometimes I will have to work with a group that is not good and this can greatly affect my

study and work efficiency. The economic sector is not always stable, the market fluctuates

constantly (Nguyen, Nguyen, 2019) so it is an obstacle to finding suitable investment

opportunities. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused many job challenges and impacted

businesses a lot, more than 5,800 small businesses to investigate the impact of Covid-19 on

small business outcomes and how small businesses had been adjusting to the pandemic, (Yan,

Han, 2021). Besides, the Pandemic hinders us from learning and working at businesses.

When studying and working, if I have to work with a group that is not good and this can

greatly affect my study and work efficiency., or it may cause bad consequences.
