drawing number reference, process data (if applicable), calibrated range (if
applicable), material, performance details (such as accuracy, linearity – if
applicable), hazardous certification (for electrical device), accessories required,
etc.

 Contains a written description of a manufacturing process that explains how to
start it up, keep it running smoothly, safely shut it down and etc.
 It contains information such as equipment numbers and descriptions, full
explanations of the modes and sequences of operation, how the system will
respond to disturbances, and how the system will assure human and
environmental safety. The specifics of what that additional information entails will
vary depending on the nature of your business.

Input Details:
 Contains a minimal of key information to ensure the viability of the process and
the process control scheme for that process.
 Contains the process overview, equipment list, software component, alarms, and
process functionality description.
 There are three primary purposes for control narratives. Control narratives
provide:
1. An opportunity for process engineers to think through and document plant
floor functional processes.
2. Documentation for operator training and understanding of the process
equipment, parameters, and control logic. The control narrative should always
become an integral part of the skill block manual and new operator training
materials.
3. A starting point for control system programmers with limited specific process
knowledge to write configuration code for the control system that will control
the process.

Input Details:
 Protective instruments and alarms in industrial plants are provided with
adjustable setpoints where specific actions are either automatically initiated,
prohibited, or alarmed
 A limit alarm trip monitors a process signal (such as one representing
temperature, pressure, level or flow) and compares it against a preset limit. If the
process signal moves to an undesirable high or low condition, the alarm activates
a relay output to warn of trouble, provide on/off control or institute an emergency
shutdown
