Global Citizen Lesson Pla

Lesson Objective: Students will identify and write a sentence about what it means to be a
responsible citizen in the classroom.
Introduction (10 minutes): Key Question:What does it mean to be a responsible citizen in the
classroom

Ask “What does it mean to be responsible in our classroom or at


home?” Tell children that being responsible is when you are able to
do the right things by yourself

Tell children there are different pictures and sentences around the
room that are responsible behaviors and not responsible behaviors.
As the go around the room, they will check responsible or not
responsible behavior.
Body (25 minutes): Go through the difference examples from the pictures and sentences
and ask children if that was responsible or not and explain why.
Write down their responses.

Restate how by doing these things we can make our home and class
a better place. How does it make our friends, teachers, and family
feel when we are responsible? Ask children if they need to be the
president to make a difference in our world

Children can go back to their desks and write a sentence and draw a
picture of one way they can be a responsible citizen at home or in
the classroom.

Closing (5 minutes): In closing, let children share their sentences and drawings to the
class.
