An Escape Into The Forest
Based in a forest environment, a series
of arches lead users around a set of steel
,computationally generated structures.
The pavilion plays with natural light and
physical twists and turns to create a
variety of experiences for the public.

Melitology Health Center
With the amount of cases of cancer in
Philadelphia exceeding the national
average, early detetction through
screenings help increase the cancer
survival rate.

This Health and Research center

provides low cost pre - cancer screenings
for the Philadelphia community while
having a higher efficiency rating than
traditional existing tests. Through
artificial selection, bees are able to
detect various diseases as well as having
a higher success rates of catching early
signs of cancer than dogs and humans.
The surrounding communities recieved
an area to connect with the bees through
a greenhouse as well as have spaces for
pre-screenings for cancer.

08
Cell

An influence for this project was create a

point of entry as if you were a honey bee
entering the hive and then into the cell.
These rooms are created through these
catwalk systems with one way of entering
as if you were entering a cell.

Pocket Community
A pocket neighborhood is a cluster of
homes gathered around some kind of
common ground within a larger
surrounding neighborhood.
This project uses outdoor shared
greenspace as a key element of the
pocket neighborhood. It is nether private
(home, yard) nor public (a busy street,
park), but rather a defined space
between the private and public realms.

DIO 4
O
MELSBACH & JARED GALLOWAY The residents surrounding the
common space share its care and
oversight, thereby enhancing a felt
and actual sense of security and
identity. Because of its location and
design, the shared outdoor space
fosters casual interaction among
neighbors which may lead to
deeper long-term friendships.
Each set of cottages share a
community building, greenspace
and parking garage.

Preserving Bethlehem
The project resembles architectural
language that molds form & space while
keeping the history and simplicity of the
existing barn. A barn renovated into a
bookstore, cafe, and art gallery while
having a community courtyard space.

22
An influence of this project was trying
to respect and preserve the existing
structure of the barn as well as using
additive and subtractive geometry as
the promenant architectural strategy.
