I. Course: ED TECH 1 Credit : 3 Units

II. Course Title: PRINCIPLES AND THEORIES OF EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY Pre-requisite : None

III. Course Description: This is a 3-unit course designed to introduce the basic learning theories and principles as bases for the design, development, implementation and
evaluation of instruction using education technology. Students are expected to acquire skills in integrating technology in various content areas. Course activities are
focused on the design and development of ICT-based instructional plans.

IV. Objectives:
A. Institutional Objectives:
JMC aims to provide a complete learning mechanism that molds the knowledge and skills of every student to cultivate the underlying principles of
living and character-building in order to establish the culture of excellence in all facets of societal condition- spirituality, socially, economically and academically-
based on the standards set suitable to the needs of every individual. Enhance love of God and develop positive/ alternative ethical values among fellowmen.

b.1 Cognitive (Creed)


b.1.1 Acquire a keen awareness on the technological advances that have changed one’s social environment through the pervasiveness of mass
media and information technology.
b.1.2 Become adept to ways by which technology can enhance quality of learning, speed up learning time, increase efficiency and reduce
educational costs.
b.1.3 Identify multi-media sources and computers for what is known as fast paced and efficient interactive learning.
b.1.4 Apply scientific knowledge to the teaching and learning process by way of providing conceptual basis and methods for designing,
developing and evaluating instructional systems.

b.2 Affective (Moral)


b.2.1 Use communication tools to truly serve as one’s instrument for attaining higher quality of life, not only within one’s society but also
within the context of societies around the world.
b.2.2 Utilize all multi resources for educational social, cultural and human values.
