IMPORTANCE OF PRINTING-

THESIS STATEMENT-

The dynamic impact of printing technology i.e HINDUSTAN TIMES on society and

press. Why printing is important and what are the pros and cons of printing .

In today's ultra-modern society, the function of media, especially print media, is becoming

increasingly important. It has been acting as India's attentive watchdog. People have become

more aware of their rights and obligations as a result of the print media. We may keep ourselves

up to date simply by reading the daily newspaper, which contains news from every corner of the

globe. People involved in assaults, robberies, murders, rapes, narcotics, and intoxication are

operating in fear of being discovered and recognized as a result of the print media's effect. They

now live in constant terror of being apprehended by law enforcement agents. We obtain news

about what's going on around us, both good and terrible, through this medium (Crompton, 2004).

INTRODUCTION-

A printer is a paper-based output device. Text documents, photographs, or a combination of the

two falls under this category. Inkjet and laser printers are the two types of printers most

commonly used.. A printed version, which is the actual form of an electronic record, is the

printed yield created by a printer. Prepress, press, and post press procedures are all included in

every printing process.

Prepress- The process of converting an idea for a printed picture into an image carrier, such as a

cylinder, plate, or screen, is referred to as prepress. Composition and typesetting, photography,

image assembly, graphic arts and image carrier preparation are all included in the prepress

procedures.

Press- Actual printing activities are referred to as "press."

Post press- Post press is largely concerned with the assembling of printed products, including

bindings and finishing.

BACKGROUND-

Johannes Gutenberg, a goldsmith from Germany, created the print machine in 1440, getting

going the printing change. His two disclosures, the hand shape and the print machine, basically

lessened the cost of circulating books and various materials in Europe, especially for more

unassuming print runs (Man, 2002). By 1500, print machines all over Western Europe had made

in excess of twenty million volumes. With the headway of print machines generally through the

sixteenth century, yield extended multiple times to a normal 150 to 200 million copies. The

action of a press became unclear with the printing business, and the articulation "press" was used

to depict one more strategy for explanation and conversation.
