1. Discuss thoroughly the importance of having a good measuring
instrument. - As what I have realized the importance of having a good measuring instrument gives educator a proper way of evaluating objectively and subjectively the students progress in terms of learning. It must be understood that assessing students must be a frequent process for the students to be up to date and on target. By implementing the best and most refine way of measuring instrument, teachers will having a good and decent job in giving instructions and also, they can meet the needs od their students in the long run.
2. Elaborate the different types of measuring instruments.
- There ae different tools that will measure the student’s growth, (1) test it consist of a set of questions to be answered and to be performed. Which is commonly used for minor and major exams. - (2) inventories these are different inventories that are commonly used for different traits. - (3) observation this is a kind of approach in which it measures objectively and subjectively the student’s traits and behavior. - (4) interview it is a face-to-face interaction between a person.
3. Discuss each type of instruments and each function.
- Test is a type of examination that will allow students to be assessed their own growth in terms of their own skills and knowledge. - Inventories somehow has its own psychological approach; it means that they are the ones who will assess the different types of characteristics the same as observation that it measures the cognitive and emotional capabilities of a person including his own traits and emotional dependency - Interview has its own way of measuring the capability of a person regardless of its own characteristics and orientation. This would allow the person to truly assess and understand the person because interview or dialogue is a unique way of understanding the person. 4. Explain the different kinds of tests to measure learners’ achievement.
- Test are basically assessment and evaluation. Test are detailed
or small-scale task carried out to identify the candidate’s level of performance and to find out how far the person has learnt what was taught or be able to do what he/she expected to do after teaching. - Diagnostics consist of items based on details analysis of the specific skills involved in successful performance of the most common errors made by the students. This type of test was primarily designed for students below average. This type of test was implemented in order to identify weaknesses among individual specially learners. - Achievement test are the type of test which commonly standardized exam. There results indicate students’ achievement in relation to the instructions provided in a school. These are in great help in improving the teaching-learning process. They help the teacher to assess the performance of the students in taking proper decisions about the effectiveness of their instructional materials and the learnings that they taught to the students. - Standardized A standardized test is any form of test that requires all test takers to answer the same questions, or a selection of questions from common bank of questions, in the same way, and that is scored in a “standard” or consistent manner, which makes it possible to compare the relative performance of individual students or groups of students.
5. Discuss each role of measuring instruments in real life encounter.
- Validity is tantamount to truth, since we are talking about truth,
it is our duty to find that truth within the limits of our own capacity. We need truth so that at the end of the day we will have a life that has its own purpose in educational purposes truthfulness is the product of constant formation that a student possesses it is the primary reason why human being needs education to gain certainty and validity amidst life’s uncertainties. - Reliability means the accuracy of one’s life, we need to make sure that reliability must be our own priority the drive to do what is morally upright. Being dependable is one of the most highly valued characteristics in a person. Simply put, being dependable means that you will do what you say you will do. People we trust with the major things are those who can be relied on to follow through on the little things. - Practicability that life must be practical and feasible. Education must be the key towards self-realization and actualization, it must be the key factor for us human being to become practical in things especially with regards to life. We don’t need to jeopardize our own lives to explore the intricacies of life. We need to be practical and in some sense be the best version of what we are. - Usability and measurability in our daily lives we encounter a lot f challenges and difficulties but what matters the most is our capability to surpass those given limitations that we encounter. We are made for something that is special, we are made for greatness that why we need to have the sense of purpose or usability in order for us to find meaning in our every day lives, the same as measurability to attain the goal that we really wanted.
