    1) Newton's universal law of gravitation states that every particle in the universe attracts every other particle with a force that is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them. 2) For an object inside a hollow spherical shell, the net gravitational force is zero since the forces from the mass inside and outside the shell cancel each other out. 3) For an object outside a hollow spherical shell, the net gravitational force depends only on the mass of the shell and is the same as if all the shell's mass was concentrated at its center.
