The New Normal Education created a huge gap in the
reading skills of the learners. As surveyed using the Reading
Assessment Literacy tool, there were 67 grade 1 pupils who
could not identify letters and sounds of the alphabet nor
can read a simple CVC word or phrase. With these alarming
issues and concerns, the proponents decided to initiate this
reading initiative and intervention which probably could
help them read. The data shown above are the Non-Readers
of Grade I after the assessment of the ABC+ tool.

Project REACH has touched lives, taught pupils to
read, gave confidence to those who lose hopes
and assured the community that no child will be
