BSHM 3-3 Assignment 4

ACTIVITY 4 : AMBISYON NATIN 2040

1. In one paragraph, answer the question: Do you think it is possible to achieve

Ambisyon natin 2040?

In my personal perspective, the Ambisyon Natin 2040 is not possible in the next
18 years. The Philippines has been fighting against poverty for a long time and
the plan of Ambisyon Natin 2040 to totally eradicate poverty is just so impossible
by 2040. As reported by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) today, the
poverty incidence among the population increased to 23.7 percent during the first
half of 2021 from 21.1 percent in the same period of 2018. This translates to 3.9
million more Filipinos living in poverty. The poverty rate in the Philippines is
continuously increasing each year. Therefore, the Ambisyon natin 2040 goal is
not achievable, yet we cannot ignore the reality that poverty could be alleviated,
although not to the extent that the plan claims, namely, the Philippines would be
a prosperous middle class society where no one is poor. It may seem
unattainable but I guess it is still doable.

2. Imagine you are the head of the Department of Budget and Management of the country.
You are given a budget of 10 million pesos to distribute to different sectors. Use a pie
chart to show how you will divide this. Consider the current situation and issues of the
country in allocating the budget into the five sectors of HRNDA – NIBRA, HRDA, AANR,
IEET, and DRRCCA, in your pie chart. Provide a 3-5 sentences explanation of why you
came up with the distribution.
DBM BUDGET ALLOCATION

1,000,000

NIBRA
3,200,000 1,000,000
HRDA
AANR
IEET
DRRCCA

2,300,000

2,500,000

If I were the head of the Department of Budget and Management this is how I would distribute
the budget. First, the DRRCCA would get the highest budget among other sectors with
3,200,000 The Philippines is at high risk of Climate change and are highly prone to multiple
disasters so this budget for DRRCCA has become more urgent. It will not only save lives but
also protect assets and livelihoods and prevent more people from becoming poorer than they
already are. A budget of 2,500,000 for IEET could help the Philippines in developing strategic
research for IEET. 2,300,000 budget allocated to AANR wherein it is one of the top priorities
because the Philippines is surrounded by water and we should maintain and continue the effort
of promoting agriculture, forestry and the importance of natural resources in our lives, and a
budget of both 1,000,000 for NIBRA and HRDA respectively because it has the ability to choose
talented individuals and create equal possibilities for all through seminars and training that will
aid the country's advancement.
This AMBISIYON NATIN 2040 has a great impact to Filipino people lifestyle that in which, by 2040
Filipinos was enjoying a strongly rooted, comfortable and secure life. It secures the knowledge that has
enough daily needs and unexpected allowances or expenses that would plan and prepare for our own
and to our children’s future. The development goal of the Duterte administration for this country is
worth one. It is articulated in Ambisiyon Natin 2040. It is basically a vision of a society where there are
no scandalously rich and where there are no extremely poor. All are educated, all are smart, and all
contribute to the shared prosperity of all. In this society, families are strong, not torn apart by people
having to work abroad; they can come together on weekends and enjoy one another’s company, they
can come together because they all work in the Philippines and because the publictransportation that
brings them together is actually functioning. I think it is a national goal worth pursuing. It is a goal that
can be embarrassed by Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, and Hindu’s, worshipers of tribal deities,
agnostics and atheists. Citizens belonging to different religions can contribute to the richness of this goal
but no interestgroup will control the whole. In the end, the whole will governed by the common
good. There comes a time in a completely random day at any given time I would stop and just think of
anything under the sun. I would think about our economy, our government, our citizens and our country
and try to think of ways and possibilities of the root cause of the problem in our country. At some
matters, I would think of how Filipino people retrieve their life into success and
