CHAPTER I: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Pila Plumbum Co. is a start-up manufacturing corporation of the two-in-one pen located
in Barangay Telabastagan, City of San Fernando, Pampanga. Pila Plumbum Co. aims to persuade
people that it is more efficient to use a two-in-one pen, instead of buying a ballpen and a pencil
individually. It offers a high quality pen at a very affordable price.

CHAPTER II: INDUSTRY

COMPANY HISTORY:

Pila Plumbum Co. founded the combined ballpen and pencil. Pila Plumbum is a Latin
term that means combination of ballpen and pencil. Ballpens and pencils are well used in
different establishments on these modern days, they have been used for daily activities.
Nowadays, students are more needy of these pencils and ballpens. Most of the students find it
easy to use pencil first to have the guide before finalizing their works, then, they use ballpen to
make their works written permanently. And this is how the idea of creating a two-in-one pen
raised. This pen would be hassle less, because instead of having two pens, people can have just
one pen in their pocket. This pen is not just an ordinary pen, most of its features are the same
with the individial ballpen and pencil. The difference between the features of the Pila Plumbum
and the individual ballpen and pencil is that, this two-in-one pen is mechanical and can be easily
switched on from ballpen to pencil, same with the other way around. With the quality basis of
Pila Plumbum, it is surely a high quality product and can be used for a long time.

The product can deliver clear writing result and it is smudge-free. It’s a high quality pen
that can turn into a pencil. Refillable lead. It’s not too thick nor thin, it is easy to use because it is
smooth writing. The product is not that expensive, it is affordable.

VALUE PROPOSITION

A pen that have both ballpen and pencil that is refillable. Students need both a ballpen
and a pencil but sometimes they don't have both because some of them doesn't have a pencil case
for it. Pila Plumbum offers this two-in-one pen that have ballpen and pencil so that you won't be
needing a pencil case anymore, all you need to have is a pocket.
PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT:

In the future years, the business plans to upgrade the two-in-one pen when it comes to the
ink’s color, which means that there would be variety of pen colors offered. The business will also
work on the possibility of improving the external looks of the barrel to make it more attractive.

Pila Plumbum Co. product can both allow the user to make marks on paper (using either
pencil or ballpen) in new ways of technology. We put them together so the user can easily write
on their paper by not picking another pen or pencil. The Pila Plumbum’s competitors are very
wide in terms of selling pens and pencil but our company have the innovative pen.

accordingly. With the precise price, the ballpen will be very affordable and worth it.

PRODUCTION:

The proponents of this project find the needs for a multifunction medium of writing by the
buying public. Basically, people use pens and pencils for writing. After a thorough research
made by the proponents, combining a pen and a pencil as one writing instrument is a flexible all-
rounder for work and daily use. This type of multi-function pen is not yet introduced in the
Philippine Market, thus taking this opportunity to produce and market this Multi Pen locally.

The proponents product is a multifunction writing instrument that consists of a pen and a pencil.
It is a versatile all-rounder that can help overcome the broadest range of challenges, ideal for
anyone who wants to remain flexible. The multifunction pen can stand out for it’s timeless and
functional design, high quality and maximum comfort in use.

Production Process

 Continuous Manufacturing 
      
          One of the reasons of the proponent is to be chosen over the other is the need to produce a
constant or very large amount of products without taking a break. Relied on large-scale
continuous processes for a long period , the flow of material or product is continuous. The target
is a product which is uniform in time. The process stopped only for maintenance (scheduled or
not), cleaning, irregular working. The output of the process appears one-by one or in discrete
quantities. The products are produced in lots based on common materials and production history.

DISTRIBUTION:

Indirect Distribution (Wholesalers/Retailers)

The indirect channel of distribution is the method the company will be using to get its product
into the marketplace for consumer use. The proponents are the producer/distributor, from there
the product will be distributed to different wholesalers and retailers until it reaches the final
consumer. For the company, it is effective and convenient to use this channel to reach thousands
of customers. It aims to have an intensive distribution in the marketplace to make the product
available in almost all outlets. The proponent rents a private building in which production and
other departments are also located. As for transportation system, the company
owns a private carrier- L300.

Pila Plumbum creates a new technology of a combined pen and pencil for a reliable and
simple way usage of a pen and a pencil. The Pila Plumbum is implementing its business on the

Pila Plumbum will be doing its early promotion strategy, the test marketing, to know the
comments of their target market if it will be reliable to them and will make them satisfy. The Pila
Plumbum will do it on the three most famous schools in City of San Fernando: Pampanga High
School, University of the Assumption, and Colegio de Sebastian. They will use the opportunity
to test their target market on the following dates given above in each specific school. It will also
have its grand launching on April 29, 2020 for the business to be known in the city and its
neighboring towns.
After this, Pila Plumbum will be soon operating its business, and it is on May 15, 2020
that its grand opening will take place. In the middle of the month of May is where students and
their parents buy school supplies. This will be a better date for Pila Plumbum to have its grand
opening because it will be the season for pen and pencils.
