RENEWABLE ENERGY ENGINEERING FOR UNIVERSITY OF ABERDEEN

INTRODUCTION AND STATEMENT

OF PURPOSE
I TANWEER ALAM, holding Republic of India passport, K7608513. I am 32
years old belongs to Madhubani District of Bihar, India. My interest in Master
Science stream from a deep routed curiosity for research and a strong will to
find sustainable solution to complex problems. My understanding as real
world needs Engineers with problem solving skills in easy simple steps
with time and cost management. Therefore, I feel a need and an inner calling to
study and contribute to the field of RENEWABLE ENERGY ENGINEERING
offered by ABERDEEN University. This will provide me a platform to
develop the skills required to advance towards my aspirations.
Why not
India:

I wanted to upgrade myself by getting international exposure and advanced

engineering skill through further studies, practical and research. After thorough
research, I decided to study Master in Science. Due to rapid industrialization and digitalization
job opportunities in this field is at a steady increase in India. But when I look for a good
that there is not any institution in India
institute to study the course, I found
where I can reach to get a quality depth with live practical and advance
research in the field of Engineering.

Why UK:

Once I decided to study abroad, I try to find for the best country to live and study. I found that
UK is the world's best and advanced academic hub. Education from UK is
internationally recognized. Due to globalization and rapid advancement in
technology, the importance of practical experience is increasing, so I
decided to do my higher studies in the UK due to affordable education which
is of high quality living standards compared to other countries. So I feel the need
of grasping the international knowledge and apply in Indian market as India is
the next upcoming face of technical market to have my ideas implemented
my masters from UK in a necessary step.

Why Aberdeen
University:

I have been exploring about the universities in the UK on internet, social

media, personal contact and found Kassel University best suitable for me.
As much as I have investigated I am impressed about the standards of
studies, the campus and facilities you offer. It has the best faculties of
engineering and robust culture of learning that can enhance my theoretical
and practical knowledge. My friend Mohammad Haroon who is currently
pursuing Master from Aberdeen University. During our telephonic
conversations he mentioned his interactions with Aberdeen University
and the huge prospects of studying in Aberdeen University. I am very
excited about being able to study my favorite course in a university
that's outstanding in all areas of quality education.

English
proficiency:

I have completed my secondary school 10th in year 2003, from Bihar

School Examination Board, Patna. Diploma in Electrical engineering in year
(2006-2010), four years course from Jamia Millia Islamia. New Delhi. India.
Bachelor of Electrical Engineering in year (2012-2016) from Jamia Millia
Islamia. New Delhi, India. The medium of study was English during entire study.
I engaged with Delhi metro rail as a maintenance engineer during the year (2016
-till now). Then I appear for IELTS, which is language proficiency test and I awarded
overall 6.0 band.

Academic
Background:

I completed my Under graduate degree in Electrical engineering from Jamia Milia

Islamia University, New Delhi. India. During my Diploma and Under Graduate, I
have dealt with various aspects of engineering and its related functions like
electrical circuits & fields, electrical machine, electrical design drawing and
estimation, generation of energy, instrumentation & control, power electronics,
utilization and traction, computer language, digital electronics,
communication system, control system, power system, soft computing, logic
control programming and so on. Choosing Bachelors in electrical engineering at
jamia millia islamia university, India exposed me to enormous scope of
engineering research in a global context. Apart from academics, I was very
much involved in my startup which gave me platform to apply my skills in the
real market. This helped me to understand importance of sustainability in
engineering owing to the limited availability of resources and time.

Job
Experience:

Following my graduation, I joined Delhi Metro Rail, operation &

maintenance division as a maintenance engineer, under sponsorship of
Hyundai Rotem Company which is specialized in metro rail operation &
maintenance works. The work atmosphere was challenging as my role
involved to maintenance of metro rail to trouble free run the public transport. I was
fortunate to guide an excellent team of 30 members. During work I got chance
to interact with Japanese and Korean engineers who visited India to
provide training for critical maintenance works. Interacting with
people from diverse countries and cultures helped me improve my
engineering and communication skills. Further, the international interactions
helped me to understand the various sustainable methods used in
engineering especially in metro rail maintenance. During interaction I
realized that my knowledge was limited.

I have enjoyed working as a maintenance engineer for Rotem as it has

posed numerous difficulties which have finally culminated in learning
something new. It enhanced my leadership skills as I was able to
coordinate a 30-member team in carrying out the maintenance activities of the
Delhi Metro Rail. I was awarded the best employee of the year in 2019 due
to my rigorous working style and contribution. The experience of four years was
enriching as I got exposure and
my skills were completely in tune all these experiences helped me expand
my horizons and strengthened my desire to pursue my Master at Kassel
University.

Having gone through the experience of student who was

the part of this course, I understand that rigorous hard work and
commitment are required to ace this course. As my understanding Electrical
Communication Engineering has always been an appealing and fascinating
subject.
ered during bachelor degree the more I have wanted to explore. I believe that I
have come to possess the drive, mental toughness, perseverance and team
skills that will aid me not just during graduate studies but also throughout my
life. The engineering role that I have executed over last couple of years has
imparted me with patience and diligence to approach and perform challenging
tasks. I strongly believe that this program will provide me a platform to
learn the necessary skills required to perform sustainable business. I feel
that these will be some of the most enriching years for me at this point in
life as well as in career.

My Future
Objectives:

I am very ambitious and enthusiastic person. I always have dreamed

to serve people after acquiring knowledge and experience because it will not
only help me to have a better future but also it can be a source of income for
others as well. First of all, I will try to complete my graduation with good
academic performance which will be helping me to find a relevant job.

I have ample amount of funds to support my Education and Living

Expenses in the UK. Thank you for reviewing my application. I look
