Why do we want to visit a place?

Is it only because of the sceneries or traditions, foods, clothing of other people also
motivates you to visit a place? Culture shapes people through their set of beliefs, values,
attitudes, habits, etc. It is something that makes us different from one another.

Having cultural differences is an asset for the tourism industry, it is one of the factors
why we visit a place. It is something that we look forward to when we go to a place far from our
usual environment. Aside from seeing new sceneries, having interaction and learning something
new from people who have different cultures is one of the exciting parts. Another exciting part is
to have a chance to try new food, learn traditions, experience to take a trip to historical places
that are out of your comfort zone. Aside from experiencing these new things, you will be able to
see and appreciate your own culture from others’ perspectives. There are lots of other factors for
you to travel to one place but it is more on trying what they could offer. Most of the attractions to
a place are related to their culture so having different culture is really a big part of the tourism
industry. Why would you go to a place where all you can see and experience is the same as all
the things that you’re already experiencing in your place?

Some of us might see having differences in culture as a negative thing because of the
often problems that occur like the common one which is having misunderstanding, but despite
the negative impacts, I can still say that it is very helpful for the tourism industry. Not only do
we experience new things but it will also be a great practice in terms of respecting other people’s
way of living, how they dress, what food they eat, their beliefs, and other perspectives. It will
help us to shape ourselves in a wider perspective with the help of other people. I think these
things are enough reasons to excite you to visit a place.
