MPT ASSIGNMENT

Emotional intelligence (EQ) is defined as the ability to detect, use, and

control one's own emotions in a positive way in order to alleviate stress,
communicate effectively, sympathize with others, overcome barriers,
and diffuse conflict. Emotional intelligence helps people build stronger
connections, achieve academic and professional achievement, and
achieve career and personal goals. It can also help you connect with your
emotions, act on your intentions, and make well-informed judgments.
The four attributes of emotional intelligence are:
1. SELF-MANAGEMENT- Our ability to control our behaviors,
thoughts, and emotions in a conscious and effective manner is
referred to as self-management. In diverse scenarios, someone with
good self-management abilities knows what to do and how to act.
For example, person with self-management know how to stay focused
and effective when working from home by avoiding distractions. He
knows what he needs to do to reach his fitness objectives, and he do it.
Self-management entails recognizing your own responsibility in various
areas of your life and taking the steps necessary to achieve that duty.
2. SELF AWARENESS- self-awareness refers to having a good
understanding of yourselves and that includes your feelings,
character, strengths, and weaknesses. Self-awareness provides the
opportunity and the freedom to change various things about ourselves
and that enables us to create a life we want.
For example, if someone isn’t interested in talking to you, a person who
is not self-aware would get annoyed and frustrated but a self-aware
person will examine the fact and will able to accept the situation and
knows whether he wants to engage in the conversation or not.
3. SOCIAL AWARENESS - social awareness helps us to empathize
with others and understand their needs, wants, emotions, and
concerns of other people. It helps in considering others perspective
and understands their state of minds. It assists in understanding the
professionalism in our work place and makes it easier to share
information and communicate with others.
For example, Ramesh wants to share a funny clip with his roommate
Anil but as he enters the room he saw that Anil is crying and instead of
showing him that funny video he asked him the matter because of which
he was crying. This shows Ramesh’s social awareness towards his
roommate.
