The Vice-Chancellor has approved the following accommodation and dining charges
that shall apply for the MBBS Intern batch for Academic Year2022-23 for the Residences
available at GITAM Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (GIMSR), GITAM
Visakhapatnam Campus.
MBBS Intern Residence and Dining charges at GITAM Institute of Medical Sciences
and Research (GIMSR), GITAM Visakhapatnam Campus.
(Academic Year 2022 – 2023)
Hostel Inclusion:

1. Accommodation in a well-appointed air-conditioned hostel room with modern

amenities on twin sharing basis
2. The rates above are inclusive of Electricity, Utilities and Housekeeping service.
3. Wi-Fi Services

Payment:

1. Apart from the residence rent and dining charges, all interns must pay a
refundable caution deposit: 10,000/- one-time fee. However, if the Intern is
already staying in a hostel and has a running caution deposit, the same shall be
carried forward.
2. Full payment towards hostel accommodation can be paid in advance.
3. The stipend can also be adjusted towards hostel accommodation by paying the
differential amount in advance.

4. Interns can avail meals on packages or coupons at the prevailing rates in the
dining hall (applicable for Plan A).

Cancellation Policy:

1. If an Intern wishes to leave the hostel premises mid-term, the entire balance
amount received, including the security deposit, shall be forfeited.
2. The refundable deposit of INR 10,000 will be refunded by bank transfer once the
hostel clearance process has been completed only if the Intern wishes to
discontinue the hostel facility after the end of the payment received term and in
the event there are no damages to be recovered.
Terms & Condition:

1. Residence charges will be calculated proportionately from the date of joining till
the end of the year for Interns admitted to GIMSR residences.
2. All charges are subject to revision from time to time in line with inflationary
conditions andor unusual events that may affect pricing dynamics. Due notice of
at least 30 days shall be provided for any price revision.
3. Current government & University regulations require all Interns to present proof
of identity & RT-PCR reports at the time of arrival.
4. Any acts that violate hostel rules, including abusive language, gambling, storing
and consuming alcohol, tobacco (cigarettes, etc.), drugs, or any form of
intoxication, will qualify for disciplinary action.
5. All Interns must properly maintain hostel property. Interns are liable for any
damage done to hostel property they use individually or collectively.
6. Hostel accommodation is subject to availability and allocated on a first-come,
first-serve basis.
7. There shall be no blocking of accommodation without completing the fees
remittance process as required.
