Summary
A Colombian teenage girl has to face the
frustration of being the only member of her
family without magical powers. Encanto tells the
tale of an extraordinary family, the Madrigals,
who live hidden in the mountains of Colombia, in
a magical house, in a vibrant town, in a
wondrous, charmed place called an Encanto.

Characters  For actor Stephanie Beatriz, who has

lent her voice to Mirabel Madrigal – the
main character of Encanto – the role
came naturally because she could relate
to Mirabel having lived similar
experiences to the character. Beatriz is
branching out into a variety of roles that
are vastly different from the one that
made her famous. She is effective in
portraying Mirabel because she can use
a higher or lower voice and her voice
over is full of emotions, just like in the
animation.
 Luisa is a character who resonates with
many people, including Jessica Darrow,
who says she learned a lot about herself
while creating Luisa and that their stories
are so similar.
 Diane Guerero, who gave voice to the
character of Isabela, can relate to
Isabela being and wanting to be like a
princess while also being almost perfect
for her family. She discusses how she
connected with her character, the surreal
experience of bringing Isabela to life, the
film's beautiful message, and the
opportunity to perform songs.
 Abuela Alma Madrigal, the matriarch of
Encanto, is played by Maria Cecilia
Botero. After losing her husband during
an attack on their village, Abuela Alma
flees with Julieta, Pepa, and Bruno.
Although it is unclear what Abuela's gift
is in Encanto, she owns the house that
grants her family their powers and is
instrumental in keeping the family
together. Although Maria Cecilia Botero's
work is not as well-known as that of John
Leguizamo or Diane Guerrero, her
legacy is well-known among Colombian
television viewers of all ages.
Setting The film's setting is in Colombia, so it
depicts more Colombian elements.
"Encanto" pays a lot of homage to its
Colombian roots, from the use of
regional flowers and animals to the
creation of songs that incorporate
their respective countries' musical
palettes. The setting also contributed
to the film by utilizing every
Colombian's tradition and culture.
Encanto features authentic Colombian
settings, costumes, food, music, and
other cultural elements. It improved
the film's aesthetic because the styles
used were all Colombian-inspired.

Lesson Encanto teaches us that no family is

perfect, but it is the most solid
foundation on which every member
can rely in times of trouble. Our
abilities do not define us. Everyone is
at risk. You are perfect exactly as
you are. And, most importantly,
cherish your family.
Likes and Dislikes The scene in which Mirabel says the
house has cracks and is deteriorating
is one of the scenes in this film that I
dislike. I don't like how they treat
Mirabel; they don't believe her and
accuse her of saying those things in
order to sabotage Antonio's
celebration. I pity Mirabel in that
situation because she may feel
belittled and unhappy because she is
the only one in the dark while the rest
of her family basks in the spotlight.
What I liked best about this film was
the ending, because while people
may perceive Mirabel as a failure
and the one who destroyed their
home, she recovered herself by
putting the doorknob that restored
the town's magic and miracle. They
also accept one other's flaws and put
a greater value on their family than
their abilities. The ideal way to end
the movie is with pure happiness and
real smiles from all of the characters.
Recommendation The setting and cultural perspective
of Encanto are both new for Disney,
but the end effect is the same:
delightful, gorgeously animated
family pleasure. Disney brilliantly
captures the many and unique facets
of Latinx culture in "Encanto," which
has been enjoyed by audiences of all
ages, many of whom are seeing
characters who look like them for the
first time.
