during visit of Chief Engineer (T&O) to Godhra circle on Dtd. 26.4.11 It is kindly

Proposal with Justification

Halol Town S/Dn. consist of Halol Town as well as 11 (eleven) another

villages having area of approx. 100 SQ Km. There are 22466 LT connections & 18
HT connections getting power supply from two different 66 KV Sub stations namely
66 KV GIDC & 66 KV Baka S/S with 8 no. of 11 KV feeders.

The village Champaner (Pavagadh) is included in World Heritage sites &

foreign visitors are frequently coming & staying at Champaner. Moreover, the
temple of “Mahakali Mataji” at Pavagadh is religious place for the hindu community
since long. Pilgrims in large numbers sometimes in lacs visit Pavagadh in Hindu
month of Chaitri & Ashwin month having Navratri festival. They come by walking
from far distance & stay there for 3 to 4 days. In such situation to maintain power
supply at Pavagadh & Champaner becomes top priority of the S/Dn. Over and
above, to maintain the power supply in town and other villages, we are following the
practice of two nos. of line staff at Village Champaner for 24 Hrs. in three shift &
acute shortage of line staff is felt in Halol Town S/Dn. which creates dis-satisfaction
among consumers of Halol Town S/Dn.
It is also to state that as described above difficult & alarming situation is
created in both Navratri time and in vacation period and also in the remaining time
as numbers of VIP’s foreigners and outside visitors visit at Pavagadh as per their
religious beliefs.
In such situation for maintaining continues power supply & to over come
consumer dis-satisfaction & to run the routine activity of (O&M) S/Dn., additional
line staff is urgently required.

Village Champaner is 6 Km away from Halol Town & is supplied by 11 KV

Mahakali feeder. The temple at Pavagadh is 9 Km from Champaner on the top of
hill. Village Champaner is a census village having population 3249 nos. There is a
school upto secondary level at Village. There is PHC available at Vill. Champaner
for medical treatment. The I.T.I. School is also available at Vill. Champaner.

Halol Town S/Dn. is looking after Halol Town & other 11 villages in
surrounding area including Pavagadh and have only 7 nos. of sanctioned line staff.
To provide services to the consumers involves lots of problem in making
arrangement of shift schedule to maintain continuous power supply and this
situation affects other activity of S/Dn. for reduction of T&D losses, so another 18
no. of line staff are proposed for sanction at Halol Town S/Dn.

Besides Halol Town another 11 villages are looked after by Halol Town S/Dn.
on the periphery of Halol Town. Now-a-days due to fast development of
infrastructure this villages are developing very fast and expect continuous power
supply as well as good services like urban consumers. Out of eleven, one important
village Champaner (Pavagadh) is there having speciality in religion in geography.
So, separate proposal for sanction of line staff for Vill. Champaner (Pavagadh) and
another 10 villages including Halol Town area is prepared to satisfy the consumer
as well as to maintain company’s services & image.
