Georgia Merk reflected on demonstrating a professional body of knowledge during her third practicum reflection. She planned and taught one unit for most subjects, creating lessons using technology, groups, and stations. When instruction did not go well, she changed it and tried new activities. For example, in language arts the students completed activities on fairy tales and story elements, meeting all learning outcomes so far through a cross-curricular group performance. With more experience, she will develop more structured assessment and evaluation practices.

For my third TQS reflection, I am reflecting on TQS number 3, Demonstrating a Professional Body of Knowledge. At this point in the practicum, I have successfully planned and taught one unit plan for most of the subjects that I teach. In these plans I created and taught specific lessons and activities with technology, groups, stations and more. I have aimed to try and change my instruction where it did not go well and try new activities as well as aim to meet the learning outcomes I have set for the students. For example, in LA we are doing fractured fairy tales and the students have completed an array of activities structured around fairy tales, story elements and story writing as well as a cross curricular group script performance in drama. They have met all my outcomes so far in these activities. I think with more experience I will see myself develop more structured assessment and evaluation practices.
