Job Staff Job description
Starter Wes Bielawski Starting each race and explaining/reminding students of each
(Bronze) stroke

Main Marshall Brianna Adair Collecting students from each bay for races and seating students
(Bronze) down on the chairs waiting for their race.
Lifeguard Michael Embley Students signalling for help- lifeguard will enter water for rescue.
(Bronze)
Chief judge/Photo Chris Street Final call on placing. Records finish to confirm placing if needed
finish for close races.(This happened a lot last year)
Place Judge 1st & 2nd Racheal Haggarty Give placing card 1 to 1st & 2nd place and guide students to exit
pool and to the ribbons table.
Place Judge 3rd & 4th Andy Street Give placing card 2 to 3rd & 4th place and guide students to exit
pool and to the ribbons table.
Bus Driver Michael Embley & Picking students up at 8:10am at Early years gate and drop offs at
Andy Street finishing time.
Exit Door and Checking that students have their toilet peg, sending students
Bathroom Supervisor Tom Gesa back that do not have their faction peg. Ensuring that no students
exit the venue without permission.
Leveque Bay Main Elle Graebner (Bronze) Organises students ready for the upcoming races at the cone
Marshall allocated. Prepare students main Marshall to collect. Allocate jobs
to bay Marshalls for either crowd control or organising.
Leveque Bay Shae Egan Crowd control and organising listed students for main Marshall to
Marshall pass on.
King Bay Main Grace Roden (Bronze) Organises students ready for the upcoming races at the cone
Marshall allocated. Prepare students main Marshall to collect. Allocate jobs
to bay Marshalls for either crowd control or organising.
King Bay Marshall Amy Franz Crowd control and organising listed students for main Marshall to
pass on.
Napier Bay Main Tom Heaton Organises students ready for the upcoming races at the cone
Marshall allocated. Prepare students main Marshall to collect. Allocate jobs
to bay Marshalls for either crowd control or organising.
Napier Bay Marshall Amy Richards Crowd control and organising listed students for main Marshall to
pass on.
Place order Andy Street Taking the placing cards and giving students their ribbons and
supervisor, ribbons sending students towards the scoring desk to receiving
faction/championship points.
Announcer and Dj Chelsea Menmuir Updates on faction points and race winners. Interview students on
how they went on the day.
Faction Point Scorer Anthea Armstrong Adding up faction points for 1 st,2nd,3rd,4th position 10,8,6,4 for each
race. Students will be sent to desk with ribbons for recording.
Points are shown on document provided.
Documents and computer will be supplied.
Championship Point Anthea Armstrong Adding up championship points for champions boy/girl.
Scorer Documents and computer will be supplied.
Photographer Chelsea Menmuir Taking photos of students racing and in faction bays.
Camera will be supplied if needed.
Staying at School – Kazue Akune + Staying in class with remaining students- having planned work for
Year 1 Kim McGaffin students to do. (Both Year 1 teachers needed in pool for Year 1
swim races)
Staying at School – Suzanne Stevens Staying in class with remaining students- having planned work for
Year 2 students to do.
Staying at School – Anthony Hall Staying in class with remaining students- having planned work for
Year 3 students to do.
Staying at School – Year Phil Otley + Joanna Staying in class with remaining students- having planned work for
4 Callaghan students to do.
Staying at School – Year Nick Devlin + Jayde Staying in class with remaining students- having planned work for
5 Marshall students to do.
Staying at School – Year Cassie Dunlop + Emily Staying in class with remaining students- having planned work for
6 Cohen students to do.
*EA’s to stay with their allocated student. Any questions please contact either Wes or I.

Students Attending

All students are expected to come to the swimming carnival. Please keep a list of students who
have handed in their swimming permission note. If they have not handed their note in, they must
stay at school with the allocated teacher above. Please note that students who have been
suspended or sent home from school due to behaviour, they will not be attending the swimming
carnival.

Day Procedure

 Carnival time – 8:010am -1:00pm


 Students to line up at the early years gate as close to the siren as possible. Students not
attending need to be sent to the relevant classrooms –
o Year 1 – Kazue Akune 1A
o Year 2 – Suzanne Stevens 2B
o Year 3 – Anthony Hall 3B
o Year 4 – Joanne Callaghan 3/4C
o Year 5- Nick Devlin 5B
o Year 6- Cassie Dunlop 6B
 Teachers remaining will need to plan work for the remaining students for 4 periods. There
will be no DOTT provided on this day. Basketball Courts and Equipment will be available to
use if teachers would like. Feel free to collaborate with the other teachers depending on
numbers.
 Tell students to arrive at school in their swimming attire ready to go.
 Students are to go to their classroom in the morning, mark the roll and order their lunch.
When students order their lunch, please write (K for King, L for Leveque or N for
Napier) for carnival orders. So we can distribute food more efficiently on the day.
 Students are to go with their teacher down to the bus gate and will be taken down to the
pool with the bus’s.
 At the pool students are to sit down in their faction bays with their belongings.
 Recess will be provided in the faction bays for the students. If a student needs to order
lunch they must do so in class before the bell.
 Students are to remain in their bays between their races they may not sit with their parents.
 After the races there will be presentations and that will conclude the carnival.
 When returning to school students will return in their classroom groups with their classroom
teachers to ensure a smooth return to school.
 Parents have the option to take their children home from the pool after indicating this to a
teacher.4
 Students will return to their classes with their normal teachers after lunch.
