Group Games
A group-dynamic game is an experiential education exercise that helps people to learn about
themselves, interpersonal relationships, and how groups function from a group dynamics. In a
group game, there are no permanent relationships that have one participant playing with some of
the others, and against the rest, for the entire game.
Often called as parlor games, party games or indoor group games, these exciting games require
large spaces, special objects and tools, quietness or many before-game and after-game needs.
Here are some five examples of popular group games:
1. Planting Rice Relay
Materials used: 40 soft drink bottles and at least 30 pcs of straw
Number of Players: At least 10 members per group (2 or more groups)
Mechanics of the game
 One member per group shall put one straw on each bottle, arrange in a vertical manner.
 After planting all straw on the bottles, they will again harvest or collect all the straw in
the bottles.
 After doing the act of planting and harvesting, he/she must past or relay the straw to the
next groupmate.
 The first group to finish the relay shall be declared the winner of the game.

2. The Longest Line

Materials Used: Any materials or items
Number of Players: An equal number of players in each group (at least two teams or more)
Mechanics of the game:
 Longest Line is best played in a wide space and by at least two teams.
 The goal of the game is to make a longest line out of the items found on the body of the
group members.
 Players are divided into groups of equal size.
 They are given time, typically five minutes, to make a line using items such as shoes,
slippers, belts, shirts, pants, handkerchief, and whatever is found on the body of the
member.
 The one who makes the longest line within the allotted time wins the game.

3. Charades
Materials Used: Paper and pen, timer
Number of Players: An equal number of players in each group (at least two teams or more)
Mechanics of the game:
 Charades can be played both indoors and outdoors best played by two or more people.
 Separate everyone into teams of about three or more. Ask one volunteer from each team
come up. The volunteers are not allowed to talk during the game, and are not allowed to
motion any letters or numbers.
 Show the volunteers only the first word/phrase. When you say “Go”, the volunteers need
to start acting the word/phrase or other hints and help the team guess the word within the
limited time. The first team that raises their hand and guesses the object correctly wins
one point for their team.
 Go through the list of words with new volunteers. The first team to reach the highest
points wins the game.

4. Paper Dance
Materials Used: Any sort of papers (Newspaper, Manila paper or Cartolina)
Number of Players: Two players in each group
Mechanics of the game:
 Paper Dance can be played both indoors and outdoors played by partners.
 The game requires a piece of paper, typically newspaper, and like Trip to Jerusalem, it
involves music and dancing as well.
 Players are grouped into twos and must dance when the music is being played. Once the
music stops, players must step on the paper and must stay that way until the music is
played again.
 The pair whose feet are touching the ground is eliminated. The newspaper is then folded
in half every round so it gets smaller and smaller. The last team standing is declared the
winner of the game

pop the balloon, and return to the team so the next players can take their turn.
 The first team to pop all their balloons is declared as the winner of the game.
