an idea.

PERFORMANCE TASK 1: Answer the following question in at least 20 sentences.

Identifying the Main Idea to Improve Reading Comprehension
Understanding how ideas relate at the sentence level can help us decipher the meaning
of sections and entire novels. It also progresses toward coherence, or the ability to
connect ideas in a bigger piece of writing.

Identifying the primary idea is the first step in comprehending what you've read. The
major idea in a paragraph or article connects all the sentences, and after you've found
it, the rest of the reading should fall into place. Furthermore, identifying core concepts
and discovering their relationships to supporting facts is the foundation of reading
comprehension since it allows us to better understand what the book is attempting to
say. It is critical to identify the primary idea since it allows us to more easily absorb the
paragraphs we read. Identifying the major enhances our reading comprehension skills
because we already know the plot and what the point of the tale or text is.

In contrast, if we do not have good comprehension skills, we will be unable to

comprehend what we read. Good literacy comprehension abilities are important
because they increase the enjoyment and effectiveness of reading and can benefit a
person not only intellectually, but also professionally and personally.
