Read and re-read the question several times.

Understand thoroughly as to what the question is asking of you

Remember, here NEBOSH is looking for you to pick


up information/evidence from the scenario and use it
to support your answer. That is why they specifically
mention this line, usually at the end of the question.

Note: You should support your What is the meaning of the word 'should': It is used

NEBOSH OBE Questions


Some questions, 'WILL NOT' be having any of the below
statements, mentioned as part of the question:

"Note: You should support your answer, where applicable, using


relevant information from the scenario"

OR
Theoretical based question
"Based on the scenario only..."

In such type of questions, NEBOSH is simply testing your


deeper and critical understanding of the subject matter, in the
question.
Write your answers that show to the examiner with clarity, your
thorough understanding, in a crisp, clear and concise manner.

The marks available are shown in brackets to the right of each


question, or part of each question.

This will help guide you to the amount of information required


in your response.

In general, one mark is given for each correct technical point


Marks that is clearly demonstrated.

Avoid writing too little as this will make it difficult for the
Examiner to award marks.

Single word answers or lists are unlikely to gain marks as this


would not normally be enough to show understanding or a
connection with the scenario
